Just trying to get a fell from the community what people prefer. I myself like the straight leg right now. It does change, but in a jean fashion mood for the straight leg. What mood are you in on this grand debate?

I used to refuse to wear anything but bootcuts. Boy was I naive. I actually prefer straight legs/slim straight legs now.
i like both, but i think small bootcuts (trouleg, zatiny) are the way to go for me personally

i hated anything that wasn't bootcut till i got a pair of 7FAM Slimmy jeans in Nakita wash, and i loved them so much i wore them despite feeling weird in that cut ... now i have straight and tapered leg jeans by Diesel, another pair of Sevens, and a few R&Rs, and i definitely prefer them to my bootcuts.

why have a poll...the results are obvious

s/l are definitely more fashion forward...period

the only people that would wear b/c are the ones that cant pull off s/l...or the sentimental ones
post #8 of 88
i just started getting into the straightleg mix but ill always love bootcuts the most.

thats how it starts...you try a few s/l...you get a few compliments...your girlfriend tells you that you look sexy in s/l...before you know it,you will be wearing only s/l

ill give you 6 months...maybe 9 if you are stubborn
post #10 of 88
^haha, 9 it is!

I prefer straights....as long as they have NO taper what so ever.

If anything, straight legs are the 'trendy' thing to do now, which does not equate to being "fashion forward". Being "fashion foward" is going against the industry and embracing different silhouettes.

Just so that you know, I enjoy wearing both bootcut and straight leg, depends on my mood/outfit/shoes.

i think the death of b/c and the emergence of new cuts,is a major reason why many people cant sell their jeans in HM

people are embracing new cuts...at least i am

i enjoy b/c only when i am doing chores or housework...its because i dont give a shit if i ruin them
post #15 of 88
What emergence of new cuts? Oh, you mean straight legs, which have been out since the dawn of time.... Or are you talking about tapered jeans, which were a staple of any rebellious teenager in England during the 70's?

There's nothing wrong with being trendy, and using fashion as means to improve an outer look, but to label people (in your case, bootcut lovers) the opposite of fashion forward is a bit juvenile, really. I mean, how many people can claim to be "fashion forward" anyway? Different garments will suit body types better, and if bootcuts make you feel and look better than straight legs can, why is that a bad thing?
i am not saying it is a bad thing...what pisses me off,is people who can not pull off a certain cut, then continuously bag it...

i have tried certain cuts...they dont suit me...but i dont bag them...they just dont suit me

wear what you want...i dont give a shit

People may also have the stuff already, it's not their size or they have other financial obligations.

Bootcut is by no stretch of the imagination dead. Not because you or 50-150 people on Honestforum do not like or prefer bootcut means that it is "dead". Come now...

People will always wear bootcut, people will always wear straight leg. The differences IMO is that that there are different fits to go around for straight leg; slim, fitted, regular, relaxed while bootcut isn't as versatile, regular fit bootcut or tight/fitted bootcut. So straight leg on a whole has more functional variations for you to go through.

Now, there is a dynamic that sometimes people do not like to take on or think of confronting. This is that certain cuts do not work well on them, however much they might like the cut and they still buy and wear it while they could be wearing something else that would suit their body shape, frame size and height better.

You would get less flak or none at all if you didn't state opinion as fact.

I prefer straight and slims cuts ( but not too slim ) like viker or timmen..
Slammer is also ok =)

My "Bootcut-Era" is almost over...

If i'm going to buy a bootcut next time, only a smal bootcut like trouleg etc...

Don't know what time brings.. =)
I have and will continue to rock bootcuts like it's my fucking job..not because i can't wear straights, i just don't want to..

you have made some valid points...in a way you are agreeing with me

some people dont want to try s/l for the fear of realising that they have spent a small fortune on b/c...they dont want to spend money building a new collection...thats understandable

mute:i think yelnats did burn those tops
I like straight, tapered and all the small bootcuts like zatiny and trouleg. I still find myself wearing zafs & zathans once in awhile though so I like both and depends on my outfit etc. like talk shows said.
