Some retro diesels :)

Bought these fanker 796 from the HM quite a while ago, but never wore them, or intended to wear them :P for a few reasons, first I was never one to wear lighter washes, and I thought 26w would be too tight! So I guess slowly, thoughout the last few months Ive been doing quite a bit of sizing down (got some new viker 8EBs in 26 too) and now 26 is perfect! The only thing that I really dont like is the four lines at the thigh... Ill just hope that goes away eventaully





Ill get pics of the viker 8EBs later I think I am now a diesel convert :O

...actually those are the best pair of denim that you've posted. Those are not remotely "light" whatsoever. They're heavenly dirty in a great way. The thigh distress is a groovy touch. You should definitely start wearing this pair more often. If I recall your other collection correctly, this is the best pair in terms of wash that you've posted.

By others, strawberyshortcakes, do you mean my R&Rs? I think im pretty much done with R&Rs now Lately I have rarely, if at all worn them

Heres the others I got last week

By others, there were no "specific" pair that I was referring to but this pair just seems to stand out more, in subtle but very, very good way. And with respect to your Rocks, I don't quite recall how they look. You can still definitely sport your Rocks if you want; but if you're not getting any use out of them, Ii suggest sell them off unless they're the Stoney wash. I think the Stoney wash still is one of the best Rock and Republic pocket color embroideries available.

And you said you couldn't find anything to fit you in a smaller size. Looks like you hit the jackpot with your new acquisitions. Thumbs up.

You do understand that the Viker look a tad larger compared to the other two pair. I personally am moving away from the size down effect.

Just an observation with no ill intention, you look quite tiny. How much do you weigh (and height)? Do you plan to bulk up anytime in the near future? Because even though I myself is in the 160 - 170 range with fluctuations, I intend to bulk up and probably add 15 - 20 lb on myself and hence I don't think sizing down will continue to work for me.

One I will be sure be selling is the vaughn morphne (see my display pic :P) Not a big fan of the wash anymore, and the fit isnt great

In the pic, the vikers to look bigger, but its just the pic Im having a horribly hard time taking a picture of them. In person, they look incredibly slim and feel ball-crushingly-tight :P

And, your observation is correct I am tiny, partially because I am asian, and partially because I have a very high metabolism. Right now, I weigh 118 lbs and 5ft 6, in a couple hours ill weign 115 lbs, Im not even kidding =\ Just had a gigantic slice of lagsagna topped with a pile of goat cheese, some spagetti, and a bunch of cookies. , sizing down does work for me, atleast for now

wow those fankers lok really amazing plus id never gues that theyre 796.the slim jims look from behind almost like fankers like they were bootcut.what the leg opening on slim jims(like farco?)

I still love 796. Fanker is still a good cut for me when I am at work and need to bend over and crouch, etc. I haven't seen any 29/34 or I would snag them.

I do have a pair of 796 Zerox, which are straight leg. You can't really see rust in this photo because I am the world's worst photographer.

Thanks anthony! I am sooo jealous, I would love some 29/34's even 32's as the thighs are a bit tight on 28's, and yes I agree the rise isn't super high.

Interesting second set of photos. I now see what you're talking about regarding the hip streaks. The second photo makes them seem a little bit on the awkward side. The wash do look lighter than I first thought. The streaks would actually bother me too.

I have seen the morphine wash, and I must say I still like the wash a lot but not so much the pocket yellow contrast stitch. Morphine is in fact one of the better medium/dark washes Rock and Republic has put out.

On the other hand, I have seen them worn on you and they are in fact looser compared to your "new" fanker and nudie including your vikers.

I would like the morphine wash a whole lot more if it wasn't so acid wash looking A problem I noticed is with the heavy pre- honey combing, and the incredibly stiff denim (unlike soft denim RR is known for) the material has begun to crack at the creases! I have a small hole developing on the rear of both legs. SO time to repair, and resell while I still can

Oh and the nudies in that pic are in 28, they just fit very forgivingly Gona try some Thin Finns next

Wow, surprisingly those look good on you. When I had a pair of those, they fit so freakin' awkward - like I was wearing FUPA jeans or something. Anyways, Fanker 796 = epic cut/wash combo.
