AAAHH I accidentally got eyelash extensions!!!

So a few months ago my friends who live in China showed me pictures of themselves with eyelash perms. I live in a small town where there is nothing like that offered so while I was on vacation in California I stopped by a salon recommended by a hair dresser to get the eyelash perm done. The price said $22 which seemed reasonable so they took me to the back room where I closed my eyes and the woman worked away at my lashes. Now in order to protect my eyesight I had my eyes closed the whole time and had no idea what she was doing. When she was done I told that I would be paying by credit card and she said "$80". I flipped out and took her to the front room where the sign said $22 and she insisted that I had asked for eyelash extensions. Now, I know that there is no way that I could have asked for extensions because (1) I didn't know they existed and (2) there is no sign on the wall saying that they even offer this service. I felt ripped off that they gave me an irreversible service that I did not ask for and refused to pay. I did however feel guilty for using their time (it took 1 hr) so I offered to pay the$22 plus tip that I would have spent if they had given me the perm (although I feel like I should have just left without paying period). As soon as I got to the car I realized that I totally look like I am going out clubbing which is ridiculous considering I spend like 16 hours a day in the operating room and now my eyeglasses (which used to rub against my normal lashes if i didn't curl them) have to be worn like a grandma down on my nose to keep my "hooker lashes" from smashing up against them.
Anyway, I just needed to vent. Beware of shady salons and possible language barriers when going to places you are not familiar with.

Please ignore the crows feet and bloodshot eyes! I did some research and apparently i will be stuck with these for 4-6 weeks, although they slowly start falling out sooner than that. I guess there will come a day when I will have 2 or 3 really long black eyelashes and the rest straight and blond

^^ WOW so sexy. now hurry home from cali thursday night is date night !

They look good but I can see where you would be frustrated. I have heard that once you get them, your natural lashes start to fall out so you are sparser than before you even started. Maybe you can trim them down to make them more wearable?

I think they actualy look pretty, they open out your eyes and i looooooove your hair! if mine was that colour it would be like straw
post #14 of 35
I like them too! But I'm sure you could trim them no problem.

You look so glamorous and pretty! I understand whey you think they are inaoppropriate for work, but goshdang you look perfect for going out!

stacie I think they look great but I am so sorry they were not what you wanted...

what a shady salon..

and thanks for giving the greedy kids a full face shot.. and I must add your hair is beautiful.. the color and everything its so shiny and silky looking I want to touch it LOL

and Mike you are such a cutie and a sweetie.. I love seeing how much you love stacie... you two are precious

You are so pretty! I kinda like the look of your lashes but I can see why they're not practical and how you would feel weird with fake lashes semi-permanently attached to your eyes.

ahh yes the picture is deceiving...my hair is like straw! i just cut 18 inches off last week so it is slightly healthier than it used to be but it has been severely bleached for 10 years...

thanks for the kind words. i think i am just going to leave the lashes for now since i am not sure where my own lashes end and i dont want to cut them off by mistake...

They look very nice actually, they dont look fake at all imo?

i think they look really pretty, but i understand what youre saying. i just got eyelash extensions about a month ago. i was on vaca in vietnam, and they do it there for only $14. mine wasnt as noticable as yours though. i asked them to make it look fuller and not too long. it looked like how i do my eyelashes everyday. the cool thing was that it didnt take as long to do my makeup, but the sucky thing was that you cant rub your eyes.

hey lillebugz... are yours just slowly falling out? by the time they are all gone our own lashes will have grown back in, right?

yeah my friends in china got their lashes permed for $6. i was looking online for info about how to take care of lash extensions and most local websites said it should cost around $300 and take 2 hours-that is insane!!!

im a beauty therapist and i must sayleave them to drop out naturally becuse if you pull them out you will take you own eyelashes with the falsies.

you look so gorgeous - i love them ! x

You are gorgeous!

DITTO^^^ super hot and sexy woman, Mike's a lucky man! I am so out of the loop apparently, what the heck is lash perming? Is that like dyeing/tinting them or something?
All I picture is frizzy curly lashes after perming them. LMAO.

perming just makes them look like you curl them with an eyelash curler everyday. they use a little rod and wrap your lashes around them and put a chemical on them for 15 minutes and they stay curled for a couple of months
