I think the Joey is the most popular basic style (pics below are of Medium Miner wash):

It depends on your body type. For me I love the Sammy the best as I like the wider leg style - they are similar to seven dojos and citizens fayes. My friend and I wear the same size although I am 5'7" and she is about 5'5". I know two inches doesn't seem like alot but depends on how your body is shaped. We both tried on the sammy jeans and on me they fit great, well on her the pockets were really low on her butt and you could see her crack without her even bending over. She has a rounder butt and mine is wider (thanks to two kids!). So it all depends. I agree that Joey is the most popular but again my friend can't wear those either because of the back pockets. She looks great in the bobbys though! Best bet is to go somewhere and try them on. Or you can order from revolveclothing.com they do free outgoing and free return shipping if you don't have a store near you so you can try them on there.

I think Joeys look best on tall girls with little to no butt. So if you have any butt issues, don't like flap pockets or that
the pocket itself runs farther down to the thigh (optically shortens the
leg), these might not be for you. I like Sammys a lot but I don't think they work for everyone. I think Bobbys can work for girls of all shapes and sizes.

Agree on that Joey's for girls with no butt I don't have one so those pockets work like a magic for me. I've seen Jennifer style on goclothing.com They are like Bobby's but way more flared. Mickey's are the best for tall girls with long legs.
I think that you can't go wrong with Bobby's for any shape.

jessica alba wears joey and she has one heck of a butt :P

She has a butt but she's a tiny girl to begin with. She looks good in Joeys, but I think she looks better in her Sammys.

I've said it before and will say it again - I've yet to see a woman whose ass looks bad in TR...

You are so funny when you say that...in a good way...
so, thanks!

Alba isn't really tiny (I was working on Honey movie), she is short, and not skinny like the rest of Hollywood starlets, just normail, medium sized girl. At least she was a couple of years ago.
Sammy's do look great on her.... I personally don't like Joey's on short girls (as said before...low pockets make you look shorter).

I'm short, curvy and get tons of compliments on my Joey jeans Moreso than any other style; they're perfect for me
post #13 of 23
my gf is super short and cury and she does really well in TR...probably better than most other jeans she wears.
I'm 5'7" and no butt....my husband loves my joeys on me the best
post #15 of 23
...i think bobby's make my butt look flat...O_o' so here's a girl in TR with a not lookin-so-good ass.

...Bobby's flattened my butt too

Sammy's are OK on me (wouldn't mind a pair) but Joeys look the best

well what do you think might be best for me?
im 4'11 about 113 lbs (but after 3 kids i have some hips)
well sammys would be super long on you and if you hemmed them without the original hem you would sorta lose the effect of them. I think the shortest inseam on those are the ones that come in stretch. The big t stretch ones from revolve are a 33 inch inseam while all the rest are 34-35". Joey's would be hard to hem too that much because of the twisted seams, don't think they would be able to keep the original hem. I would go for the bobbys!

I think you should get whichever style you like best! I'm 5'2" and have hips and like the Joey the best. Jessica Simpson wears a lot of TR Joey and she's only around 5'1-5'2 as well.

Oh and I do hem my twisted Joeys. I tell the person first that it's twisted but they know what they're doing They've come out fine!

aerobicgrl do you have them keep the original hem?
I don't keep the original hem. I do have a pair of black Joeys with the original hem, but I bought them that way, so you can get it altered either way!
I am only 5', so I have to get all my jeans altered. I got my joeys altered with the original hem, and they look great. You can't tell they were altered at all.
