I ordered it in size 30 then decided to cancel it because I have a hunch that the structure of the joey raws are gonna come out really loose at the end of the whole episode and it would really suck if you spent 6 months in a stinking jeans and not have it perfect. I personally would probably need a size 29.

FYI: I bought some stuff from revolve (including the Joey Raw)and used the 15% discount code before knowledge of the 35% discount and I e-mailed them and requested that they apply the 35% discount and they did.

I got mine today. They are 30's. I wear 32 in SFAM. The waist is 17" wide. These probably fit like 33's or something? Waist measurement indicates that maybe even wider though?
I'm going to wash mine before I wear them. Don't want them to shrink and then have the wear to be in all the wrong places.

I guess I didn't actually ask your question. I think these 30's in raw fit more like my size 31 joeys. I could probably wear these TR raws in 29. I'll let you know if they're more like regular TR 30's after I dry them.

its only gonna shrink a few "centimeters" on the hem at most. which if you translate that to inches its practically nothing. what people usually do is crop their pants up.

the more processing you put it though the less fading you'll see, particularly after the first wash its down hill from then on. a fade that may take 4 months to happen may now require a few years...

I seriously doubt that. Washing isnt going to hurt. Fading is about the amount of wear on areas that get wear versus the areas that don't, and how much more ink will come out of the areas that got wear in any wash. the differential will be higher if you wear it longer. Also, I'm not going to wear these every day.

I don't care about the "wow" effect.

Sure I will wear the jeans many times before washing, but I'm not going to let them be super-nasty. Thats when they'll get washed.

Maybe I'm not a purist, but so what.

i hear what you're saying but thats now how it works.

you really dont have to be a purist to treat raw denim that way, its just that once you wash them (especially when you dry them) the jeans now pretty much settle in. its true that you will still get fading in particular areas which is what i mention but the amount will be alot less than and certain detailed areas will not show up too.

but depends on how you like em so its all fine

personally i think if u dont want to break in a jean then there's no reason to buy raw denim, unless your hip hop and you think thats cool to have cardboard jeans.

I love that quote.

I will wear mine the classic way. No washing until the are broken enough. I thought about marking it somewhere on the inside with a washable pen to count how many days I wore it without wash. That could be fun. When they stink you can just air them. Washing is bad for clothes anyway.

yeah but when you wear them they'll expand alot, since you'll be excessively wearing these jeans to break them in.

kinda like how i buy my expensive jeans to fit exactly, while my normal jeans i by them slightly tighter cause i would wear em more often and would calculate for the expansion.

Washing trick #101:

If you want to keep the color of your jeans from fading or bleeding, put about two capfuls of WHITE VINEGAR in the wash!!

This also works for items that are being washed for the first time and you don't want them to bleed onto the rest of your clothes.

You can get a gallon of white vinegar from the grocery store, cheap store brand for about $1.50
