The Diesel store in Montreal had the new batch of Zathan 71Js when I went there last month. Ssense, which is one of the most discussed online sites for Diesels, has carried the 71Js before you made your sales thread.

The point is that you emphasized a false statement that made your sales thread more appealing. The threadcrapping wouldn't have occurred if you didn't "lie". You are liable to your statements as a seller and should be called out if you puposely (or ignorantly) made false assumptions.

Hi nique, your request will be definitely put into consideration. From reading the posts, both sides have good arguments regarding the posters being in charge of modding their own threads in HM. It can be a good and a bad thing in many ways, like pointed out by the posts above. Having the community involved in HM’s sale threads in addition with the mods is a sort of a check and balance system that keeps the mall clean. I will make sure that Dave will see this post but from my own personal experience running different websites, I don’t think that Dave will make up a decision without looking at both sides arguments and see what’s best for the community as a whole and not just from the seller's standpoint.

Thanks!
Sean

If sellers mod their own threads they can easily delete their own bumps and therefore, in theory, bump up their threads every 12+ hours. Nique, people would care a lot less if you wanted to sell for profit here if you just hadn't lied. Call me crazy but before I make a listing and claim something as being "sold out everywhere" I would run a couple of Google searches first. In light of the circumstances under which you decided to start this thread, you don't have much of a case. Like you said this is HONEST forum... it starts with it's members being honest.

Everyone does things differently, maybe we can learn from each others' successes and mistakes? After all, what matters is the denim!!
No no no... I wasn't saying your comments would start something - I prefaced my response with it because I didn't want my own comment to start anything It's fine to mention HF or DNA on here just as long as people aren't making unwarranted shots at them, that's all

HF/HM does NOT think its wrong to make profit. Selling however, at an asking price sometimes more than retail, I'd say is frowned upon... There's pocketing some extra cash & there's 'why should I buy online when I can get it in store for $50 less...' Why wouldnt we just all buy retail then...? It's your right to make a personal listing price, but when you say it's 'uber rare' & someone can just walk into a store & pick them up tomorrow'- it's making a false statement...

FOR THE LAST TIME: Please, get this through your thick "honest" skulls....

I DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE NOT SOLD OUT.

I did my research, I did my googling, bizrate, etc. I checked all the major clothing sites like yoox, nordstrom, etc. I did not see them in ANY Diesel Store in the NY area or any department store. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF JJDENIM OR SSENCE UNTIL YESTERDAY.

Others, as I pointed out before are selling them ON HM and ebay and saying they are sold out. I have done enough research to claim sold out when I thought they were.

Is this so difficult to believe? My god. And now Lauriebell...are you REALLY that dense to not understand this - especially with your position as a mod?

So please, call me a liar again Laurie.

^Wow. Not a good idea to call Laurie names.
You think that'll get you what you want?

And Laurie, for the sake of your argument. Lets google it sweety....

zathan 71j - Google Search

1. An AF post
2. SSENCE.com SOLD OUT
3. An Ebay Listing
4. Some other "LIAR" claiming 71J is RARE. I guess were all liars huh?
aand the rest are ebay links......

The only lie I can make right now is that your doing an excellent job at being impartial.....

^^ not a good idea for her to call me a liar, especially in her position. You would think she would be a little more impartial before joining the "honest mob"

BRAND NEW DIESEL ZATHAN 71J 32 x 32 - SOLD OUT & HOT!!! - (item 180145412221 end time Aug-07-07 11:44:18 PDT)

you're still claiming they're sold out. douchebag.

and BTW, if you google "zathan 71j", ssense and jjdenim have them right at the top of the page, under the product search results area

(1) Do not call me sweety, please.
(2) Let's run that google search again... Zathan 71j - Google Search And I'm the liar? The jeans clearly show up in the search results. That's lying by omission for saying that just an AF thread comes up with a few other random hits.
(3) I am pretty darn impartial - I have routinely taken the side of the underdog on here, so it's silly to say that I have joined the "honest mob" just because I agree with what other people are saying and not you. You aren't the first person I have called out on not being honest and you certainly will not be the last.

ETA: Nique, I would personally like to ask what happened to you? You were always so nice to me until I told you that I wouldn't break a rule Dave created so that your sales threads would look better (i.e. - deleting posts you didn't like). Then your attitude turned on a dime.

Wow, you really are a bigger D!%K then I anticipated, and I thought you for a very substantial D$@K

And calling the mod dense, makes you look like a bigger @$$hole. Whoever doesnt agree with you is just "dense" and stupid right? What makes you think you can talk down to people just because they dont agree with you? What you wrote in your sales thread toward Lauriebell is childish and stupid.

Grow up, and maybe people will listen to your arguments. Stop trying to whine like the entire world is against you, YOU helped to create this mob by your constant complaining and selling tactics.

It reminds me of how off the handle your pms were, like this community owes something to you.

And many other members who do always put "rare" and "sold out"are overlooked because they dont have as bad of a reputation for complaining about everything, and if they are asked to change listings, they do so without complaint.

So the odds are, members who are more agreeable and less likely to just call mods stupid, impartial, dense ect get more leeway. It not always fair but it happens.

Maybe, but after you were informed that it wasnt sold out, you put up your eBay auction and still stated that they are sold out, and that is dishonest.

you also still have the ability to edit the false claim out your ebay auction title but i dont think you will because you're clearly more about making money than being honest.

laurie has never been unfair or bias in ANY cases so you should seriously shut the fuck up

i can't fault buddy for saying the 71J's were sold out considering they are/can be rare and are in demand. that said, he did react like a womanly douche in his sale thread and here

This is the reason I stopped posting regularly to begin with. So sorry, I guess I dont have the right to sell on here now.
Yet, I have a valid point and I was making a suggestion on HM policy. My suggestion was made personal by Jskidmark who called my sale out. Apparently, he and others still find it so impossible to believe I didnt know 71J's were not out of stock. I guess i should not have better things to do with my time...

$240 New Diesel Men's Zathan 71J 29x30 rare Sold Out!! - (item 120146762110 end time Aug-28-07 15:51:39 PDT)

If you have a problem with my markup, please refer yourself to every X-Rotuck sold on HM and the way they are marked up. In fact, look at what the other 71J's were originally selling for on HM! I can easily point out other current sales where people are making nice profits off of their HF "comrades". Yet Im the bad guy. I can mark my jeans up to whatever I want just like everyone else and if you dont like it, dont buy it. Yes, putting "sold out" bolsters a sale, but I would not put "sold out" on a pair that I KNOW is still selling in stores.

I would love Dave's take on this since he created this forum to begin with. See the little ads on right? Did you know he makes money off of you guys every time you visit? OH HOW SHAMEFUL! Please remove the idea that this forum is some type of little cult community. It is as much a business venture for the owner as it is for those that choose to sell on it rather than giving their old jeans away to charity. And theres nothing wrong with that.
So if you feel it is fair to disrupt sales threads, then by all means I will post a better deal on any sales thread where I can find the same item cheaper. I guess I can also make note of anyone who profits from their sales too...Its only right, correct? Gotta look out for the "community"...

NOVEL ALERT! NOVEL ALERT!

laurie, its nothing personal and yes I do like you and I think you have done a fantastic job as mod. but when you sit and call me a liar that I knew they were not sold out after I explained a thousand times that I did not know, i think that drew the line. You as a mod, who is supposed to be impartial, should know there are ways of handling disputes before coming to such a strong conclusion. The last thing I stand for is being called a liar and thats why i defend myself so strongly.
To be truthful, I complain b/c I like selling on HM - hey its free - and Id like to see it better since Ive been burned many times by sellers and threadcrappers without anyting being done. And this all started from the awful mediation of the jeans I bought from texasplayer which were defective and misrepresented, yet he got away with it scott free and is still selling today. I dont care if you dont like that I "complain". I just want justice and the freedom to sell authentic jeans without disruption.
And yes I am selling them on ebay and I am claiming they are sold out of stores since they are sold out here in NY/NJ and so that it can sell better. And this doesnt concern anyone here. I am not selling defective or counterfiet jeans so get over it.
the only idea i agree w/ and like is the ability to edit the title of our sales. i always feel bad having to pm kelly so much asking her to change it if i made a mistake or something.......other than that

can't we all just hug and make up

ive said my peace on this issue and dont worry i wont be posting on here anymore anyways just as I have not for the past year or so. I truly dont have time for this forum anyways in preparation for my wedding - I dont need the added drama from people on this forum.
All I cared about was selling on here anyways and my original intention was to make a fair suggestion until everyone attacked me for "lying" in my thread. In my departure I would like to see this new law enforced on everyone including billbonesknows since he apparently is also a "blatent liar" claiming the same jeans are sold out. We must all post in his sales thread that they are available at jjdenim.com - PMing him about it is not the way to go.

http://www.honestforum.com/mens-30-3...light=71j+sold

I truly hope you all snuff out these "bad seeds" from this utopian community of such "honest" people. Get out your pitchforks and join the mob!

Au revoir! another HFer bites the dust....

ps. cutup - your still cool
I think billbones has had a fair share of drama himself

Lets just move on!
Gosh. I like the how "the bad seed" calls for the removal of other "bad seeds," calls the head mod a liar who "does a fantastic job," has said his "peace" but refuses to actually make peace (causes more drama by naming names), and then claims to be making a quiet exit. Sheesh.
