Tiffany's oval tag necklace auth check... pretty please

Any experts out there? I just won this. I compared it to my bracelet that was bought from Tiffany's and the tag looks good to me. The seller sells a lot of high end stuff like rolex's and has really good feedback and offers a money back guarantee plus shipping both ways so I think I am fine, but wanted to make sure.

really? Is that because the auctions get ended early by vero or because there are just so many fakes?

The seller was selling other preowned high end stuff, so I thought it was probably legit.

Because 94% of them are fake and most of the listings are caught within 48 hours by VeRo

Very scary. In retrospect I think I'll only buy Tiffany's in the boutique from now on since it's not worth the worry of if it's real or not. I think that jewelry is probably much easier to fake and harder to authenticate than handbags or jeans.

Liz- do you think the pics look ok though? I remember you selling one of these in the mall a while back. I was so tempted to buy it at the time, but didn't.

Tough to say, you need to see them in real life. The metal will feel different. I bought a fake on Ebay 2 years ago and knew it was fake when I got it because of how it felt. Up until that moment, I did not even know they faked that stuff. I learned the hard way

I think you won the auction right? Take it to your nearest T&Co store and ask to have it polished, will cost you $10. If they take it and polish it, it is real. If not, they will either not accept it on the spot, it return it unpolished.

yes- I did win the auction. Thanks Liz. That's good to know. I didn't know that they would refuse to polish it if they think it's not real. I'll try that.

it's real, i could tell basically because the engraving seems to look all good, and i own a lot of tiffany. it's pretty easy for me tell on this one because there's a macro pic of the front of the tag.
