I bought a fake... I think :(

So I got a wallet from eBay, thinking it was real and trusting in their FB (something I should've learned NOT to do a long time ago) I bought a potentially fake "gucci" wallet. TPF steered toward it being fake, but can anyone confirm for me? I would do my poupette but apparently I have to pay for an authentication? Which sucks. So can anyone help me out??

My pics/close-ups:

TIA!

I haven't seen this style before, I think it belongs to the Britt or Blondie line though if it is real.

But My Poupette does charge for their services.

I guess I'll go to NM or somewhere and try and capture as many mental images as I can to compare. I'm 99% sure it's fake b/c of the font of the stamp, but we'll see.

Liz, if I find it is fake, could I get a letter or something saying it is (from you)? Or do we only do that for jeans?

I'll be happy to write you a letter saying it is fake (only after it has been confirmed that it is) =)

I thought the stamp in the front looked out of place, but can't say since I've never owned a Gucci wallet. I was looking at the stitching, there is an area that dents down in the front---not sure if it's due to poor craftsman ship or from poor storage.

Yup, it's fake The leather is all stiff, proportion and stamp is all wrong. Man I hate dealing with disputes.

Liz, do you mind..

PM me with details sso I can include it in a letter.

It would be great if there is a picture of a real one too to include.

^ I would've taken pics, but I doubt they allow that at NM

I'll ask around and see if I could get pictures

Is it the one in SF? I know tPF members sneak photos there all the time.

If you have a SA there, call and ask if they have this specific wallet and ask if she can email you a photo because you are too busy to come in.

Yup! Ah, thanks!

I would've taken some, but the SA stood right in front of me the whole time I was looking at the wallet. What a b#$@#...

So $30 later... I won the claim Happy day. And PP asked me to return the item to.. them? to a suite in Dallas, TX. What do they do with the item exactly? The person I bought the wallet from is in Canada. Oh, and anyone want to recommend what method of shipping I should use and if I should buy insurance (which I think is obvious)? OH and is confirmation enough or do I need tracking?
TIA

I would personally do USPS priority international b/c it's the cheapest. It's $15.20 if you do it online. I would definitely do insurance just in case something happens. I would also track it, so it shows that it was delivered to the seller.

I don't know what they do with it, but it still took nearly a month after they got it to refund my money AND over a month for them to unlimit my account
