So this whole "I'm Not A Plastic Bag" craze got me thinking that I should post other bags that are also out there for a good cause. This makes it OK to break your shopping ban---what?!? It's for a good cause!

I was getting breadsticks yesterday, and the cashier put them (already wrapped in foil) into a plastic bag, so I said, "No thanks, I don't need a bag " and he's like, "Uh, they're hot." And I was like, "I'll be fine, those plastic bags are just bad for the environment so I don't need to take one. If it ends up in a landfill it will take over 100 years to biodegrade."

I figured he'd just take it back and reuse it, but to my horror he just shrugged, crumpled it up and threw it away.

My friend said, "You should have taken it home and at least put it in the recycling bin." Boy did I feel guilty.

The reusable bags I buy for groceries are awesome. I always bring them to the store and if the bags fall apart, Superstore and Sobey's will take them back to be re-recycled and you get a new bag.

I used my lululemon bags as an overnight bag, lunch bag and all kinds of things. They're awesome for groceries as well.

Wow, use of plastic bags in Ireland went down 90% after they introduced a 15 cent tax for getting a plastic bag at stores. I imagine it would just cause people here to throw a huge hissy fit if they had to pay for each plastic bag they used.
I hate how stores will put a pack of gum in a huge plastic bag and if you say you don't need it they look at you strange. I work retail and if someone is only getting one item I always ask if they need a bag for it. I have only had a few people bring in reusable bags.

I thought i am the only one who does such things.
