Those crazy asians handing out "mark of the beast" fliers

I've been seeing these for YEARS and they've always been given out by random normal-looking little asian women.

They're printed on one 8.5 x 11 page folded into three. It's all black and white and there's a picture of a bald head with a tattoo of a bar code across the forehead. I'm searching the internet for a photo of one but I cannot for the life of me do it.

Has anyone else seen these?!

no I dont think thats it. The flier itself isn't asian in nature its just the people giving it out. Damn I think I have one in my gym bag I'll try and scan it

Don't you read the bible?? Revelations.....I don't know why they are handing those out and the bible doesn't specifically say what the mark is (its not necessarily a 666 or whatever) but you might as well ask why any bible-bumpers hand out bibles....ya know???

I _have_ read the bible yes. But I want to know what nutjobs are producing these things so that I can go and shake their hanks for giving me periodic hearty belly laughs every time I get one

Very interesting. They carry the same beliefs as many people in my area. They believe that the mark of the beast will be in the form of an electronic chip inserted somewhere in the body, specifically the hand or forehead to identify us. They also believe it could be an ATM chip so that we can just scan our hands at the grocery store to purchase items. I use to work for Diebold many years ago when I first got out of school. This was something that they had actually been considering. Either way, I am not taking any chances

I used to be very devoutly Christian and I remember questioning if we already received the mark of the beast. We have social security numbers, CC, bank accounts, tax ID, school ID, etc....It was just a matter of time before it is implanted on to us.

A funny thing though, WHen I was in Taiwan 10 years ago, a very popular trend at the time was bar code tattoos and EVERYONE had them.

The mark of the beast itself is 666, but the number handed out to the human population is not necessarily 666, it can be any number.

revelation says.."the mark"....which is "the name of the beast or the number of his (the beast's) name"...and then next verse it says his (the beast's) number is 666.

so the mark..is either his name..or 666

In apocolyptic writing, especially prevalant during this time from Christians based on thier widespread persecution by both the Romans, a lot of the writings used symbolism with references from the Old Testament (so the Jews would understand the writing, but the Romans wouldnt think anything of it).

7 was the symbol for perfection/perfect/right. (throughout the Bible)
6 was the symbol for imperfection/wrong/sin. (throughout the Bible)

The rest is in my opinion/according to what I have studied. The above stuff is fact.
The reitteration of the 6 is equated to saying something is very, very, very huge. It is adding great emphasis.

Verses 16 and 17 are saying that the state of the world they live in is one that it seems that to live in this world, you have to conform to the wordly ways to survive / be a member of society / be accept / liked. Verse 18 is reaffirming that to live according to the world is very much sin - even though the world sees it as okay.




-This is what I actually believe. It is a more traditional/conservative view of the book as a whole. I believe that most all of the book of Revalations was referring to the Romans detroying Jerusalem in 70AD, and this book was written as a book of hope to tell the fellow Christians that good will prevail. btw, I'm not really gonna discuss this much further b/c I don't claim to have all the answers nor do I claim to be 100% correct.

It is said by many Bible historians that the 'mark of the beast' is not 666, it is 616 and the beast is infamous Roman emperor Nero.
