Yeah, my friends and I thought that HBO went down. My Mom called me after the show saying she thought the same thing at first.

It wasn't a bad episode, it allowed us to "create the ending." Too bad about Carlo flipping, he'd been in the series since the first episode. I wish they had an older character such as Benny do the shooting of Phil which was another one of the Sopranos sick and ironic sense of humor.

All and all, the series is over... It's the only show I watched and loved. Now what?

Ive watched every single episode, and am a massive supporter of that show, but even I can say that it was an immense let down.

I'm glad nothing happened. I think the way they set it up (meadow possibly walking in on her family being killed...come on, who wasn't thinking "MEADOW, DRIVE AWAY!!!") since virtually everyone was expecting one of the Sopranos to be killed, then the "blackout"...really, it was brilliant!

I heard they filmed several endings (which is why that last clip of meadow walking in was so authentic imo, as though something was about to happen and did in an alternate ending). Since an insinuation was made that the group of black men were about to do something, or the other italian men, my guess is that that was one of the endings. Like the place gets robbed or something & the whole Soprano family gets killed- not by Italian mobsters but simply by being in the wrong place & the wrong time.

I have a feeling that the show's producers or writers, execs (or whoever made the call on which ending to use), monitored the audiences expectations so as to throw us for a loop and make it completely unexpected. although, if they were planning on killing of soprano (one or all), a botched robbery or whatever would have been an unexpected ending. Now though, the door is open for a movie.
