pink eye

i'm pretty sure i have pink eye. i went to the doctor's and they said it probably was it. they gave me these special eye drops.

any suggestions on how to make it go away faster?

it's gross.

Strange that they said "probably." There are tests for that kind of thing.

But, if you have the drops you are on the fast road to recovery. Here is my advice in addition to the drops:

DON'T touch your eyes. For real, don't touch them. You are just getting the bacteria on your hands, spreading it around and then reinfecting yourself (and everyone around you). If you need to clear your eyes, use a tissue, wipe ONE time on ONE EYE ONLY and throw it out. Don't rub! Then wash your hands and you can repeat on the other eye (otherwise you are making the infection worse by reinfecting from the other eye.

You can use eye drops to flush out your eyes, but remember all the infection rules. Wash hands before and after, don't touch the dropper to your eye.

Warm wet compresses will help with the pain, but always keep the reinfection in mind. So don't use the same compress on both eyes and don't rub your eyes with it.

If you have them, don't wear your contacts. Throw out any contacts you have had that have been on your eye when you have had the infection and sterylize the case.

LOL...I cheated and copied some of what I wrote before

I directed a children's summer camp and we had an outbreak one year...plus I used to get pink eye all the time.

Yeah, I tried to search for it, but I typed in pink eye and got two pages of responses.... Since you gave me Feb, I just looked again. THANKS.

And for the probably thing -- YEAH, I went to the campus health center because I'm taking summer classes. So... yeah, they are kind of worthless.

My eyes aren't itchy or painful, just red and ... gooey. Ew.

P.S. I've never had pink eye before now.

Yeah, it's disgusting.

Those eyedrops cleared up my eyes in like two days though, you should get them if you haven't already.
