Thank you for bumping this, Annie.

I looked through the whole thread. This is an oldie! There are some fun characters - DO and NYC Exclusive Shop. Hilarious.

Oh god, NYCE... Models are not celebrities, hello! And unless there are celebrities playing Where is Waldo in your basement.. Why are you posting pictures of your warehouse?

I would appreciate it if these photos were not posted on the HF Blog. I post these photos for R&R fans and I don't like the idea of my work being put into the blog where I'm not receiving any of the money from Google Adsense. HF Blog writers get paid for their work and if you are copying my work and reaping financial awards, I should get a cut. To put it simply: if you want to use my work then forward me what you are getting paid to post the blog.

the last set of photos the hf blog put up first (so says the timestamp)

i'm referring to a slew of other posts that have been copied without credit or monetary compensation towards me

there are a bunch of other hf blog articles copied from other users without credit or compensation

i don't see why hf bloggers should get paid for work they didn't personally do. not cool in any way.

doing nails.. hence no capitals

I agree with your sentiment. Someone outright copied Cherie's post about the latest batch of new women's washes, and all they changed was like 3 words of commentary on the thumbnails --- but what's worse, they said the opposite of what Cherie said (she said that the rainbow pockets were cool, and the 3-color shag pockets looked like they were moldy, and i agree with her, but the denim blog says rainbows are too much and the moldy shite Rs are beautiful....)
^ Yep, I noticed that too.

It's not just Cherie's post, but a lot of posts on R&R and many of the other sub-forums. It just irritates me even more when it's obviously something I posted first and no credit or monetary compensation is given. HF bloggers get paid to copy to our work.

Anyway, I'll be dropping the main blogger and Dave a line soon.

What? I don't even know it's a paid job. I thought everything on this forum are done purely voluntary. Should we now start charging people for each authentication request?

Some mods/bloggers are paid
I'm not

You see the ads on HF and the HF Blog? Whenever you click an advertiser's link you're adding money towards the site/Dave.

Same goes for the links in the Sales & Coupons section. If you click on a site's link, you're again adding more money towards the site/Dave. Also, if you copy and paste a link that was originally from HF directing you towards a commercial site, HF gets money from that too. I made the mistake of doing that on AF not knowing that there were HF affiliate links. Everyone got really pissed and thought I did it intentionally.
oh i see. so when people click on your links to those certain websites containing pictures of celebrities wearing rocks like the pictures up top. do you receive money for them? how are people stealing your links and stuff?

btw, nice avatar. haha cool pose. what ethnicity are you? i'm chinese.

Just a clarification- I got paid for my video (actually, I made the video for a project and then I was offered $$ for it. Hell, if people want to give me money, then that's cool with me). I don't think the majority of the writers for the blog are paid, but I'm not really sure on that regard. I'm fine with people being paid (I guess I'm biased though) if they are actually writing articles. Writing articles is time consuming (or at least it should be if you're doing a good job).

I don't think it's cool that whoever runs the blog copies posts like that. I been meaning to say something, but I don't really like conflict sorry Annie! I'm a wuss.

Anyway, I agree with you 100%! I know writing a blog is hard, but (especially if they're being paid) there isn't any excuse to use people's work without expressed permission (and I don't think the "props to whomever" cuts it at all). I've seen some complaints about users' pictures on the blog from WAYWT without their permission.

If the blogs are so starved for content, hell, I'll start writing blurbs for them.

wait wait what? someone copied the shit i posted? HOLD UP

you know what i noticed also the links to the invite only sample sale give the blogger TONS of money b/c the inviter earns a piece from every person that joins and buys which i don't think people realize

Yeah, that definitely sucks.

When people's efforts are used to benefit another for personal gain, that = FAIL.

I will PM you privately but these pics originally came from Celebutopia which is where I get a lot of my celeb photos from - I did not take them from this thread or from you - and I do not receive any Google AdSense money, just so you know. Any affiliate links money goes to the HonestForum, and deservedly so - they have to pay to keep the servers up and running and this is Dave's job - not to mention he puts a lot of the money he gets from ads towards charitable causes - he's in Haiti doing charity work as we speak. If you have ever met him in person you'd know he's a super nice guy who loves helping others.

I would never copy someone's work unless they specifically say its for the blog and I do "give props" - what else do you want me to do if that's not enough? I don't get paid for each blog post so its not like I can pay someone. I'm happy to post a link to someone else's blog (we do this for Nova) or your website instead of your HF profile if you want me to. But as for these Eva photos - you did not take these photos, some paparazzi did and posted them on Celebutopia which is a paparazzi site which is where I find them. I give credit where credit is due, to Celebutopia for the pics. It's silly to think that someone "found" celeb pics or to call them original work when they are all over the internet.

Please do not think I am getting rich from the blog, you'd be sadly mistaken. I do it because its fun to do and I enjoy it. You may have noticed the WAYWT blogs have stopped because I can't find enough clear images to keep it up, but you would think if people are posting on a public internet forum, they wouldn't care if its on the blog for the same website - but that's fine, that's stopped anyway.

In the future if someone has a problem or question about something on the blog, I'd appreciate an email or PM instead of just bashing me when I was not even here to defend myself. Thanks.
But you do get paid to blog.

If you read the thread carefully I specified that you posted the photos first. This doesn't discount the slew of other content that I and many other users have posted first and then were posted to the blog afterwards with no credit whatsoever. You're missing the point here, and maybe you're avoiding it intentionally. You get paid to copy our content without compensating the original posters.

You do need to PM me and a bunch of other HF members for stealing their work. Please go back to page 1 of your blog and PM the appropriate people.

Ok i think this is getting a bit out of hand.

Being a blogger is hard work and takes a lot of time, like welovedenim said these photos are posted all over the internet and are free for anyone to find, just because someone found those photos first doesnt mean its theirs and they need to be given credit for it, the paparazzi should be given the credit for taking the photos in the first place.

However why not come to a solution, if the bloggers post something that has been posted on this forum first, they put in the HF username and props to them for finding it first., that way the member gets credit for it.

Im not a paid mod either, im happy doing everything i do for free, i like helping people but lets keep all this to pms, its unfair to publicly humiliate others, you wouldnt like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

lets discuss this in the leaders section. in general if you have problems or complaints they should be aired directly to the person or persons you are speaking of, not posted out in public first. and this especially applies to the leaders of this forum.
