Is there anything more annoying than assholes who don't re-rack their weights?

I'd go with, people who don't at least wipe their sweat off the bench/mat/equipment. I know working out gets you sweaty and whatnot, but I am definitely not a fan of feeling other people's sweat when I go to use something....ew.

try being 75ish lbs lighter than you...

and yes, having to ask someone to "help you move the plates" is WAY more annoying.
...but happy to see it's not just a chick complaint.

The worst is when you see someone come out of the stall after taking a shit and not wash his hands.

I seriously hate people like that. we got some macho wanna be at our gym who will rack all three bars with 300LB and just walk away after they are done. Same things with the dumbells they will grab half of the dumbells off the rack and leave them scattered all over the place.

^ couldn't you bring it up to the owner of the gym?

totaly

I have a couple more

#1 The guy who talks on his cellphone who doesnt use the weights you have been politley asking to work in with for like 10 minutes

His usual asinine response " Im using them bud" You then come back almost 15 mintues later and the same tool is talking on his cell and and not using the weights

#2 The newbies who rack up weights WAY HIGHER then they should be, and then attempt to lift them once while almost falling over and putting themselves in the hospital ( as their spotters do all the work), they then wipe the sweat off their brows and consider themselves done for that set.

#3 The new tough guy and his freinds who walk around holding out their bodies flexed and puffed out when attractive girls are close by. And when they are sure they have passed by, they release their lungs and shrink. It almost makes me spit out my water I laugh so hard..

Man, I could go on....

^^ to add to that...there's a trainer in our gym that luvs to point out bad form when doing an exercise. It's great that he does it, but does he hav to be a dick about it! The dude always comes out way to sarcastic and acts like he owns the place ! Cuz of it...a lot of ppl r intimidated going to the gym. A gym-nazi!

That's why I work out at home!!
I will tell them to rerack them, there are signs all over the gym and since I work for the same chain( I teach aerobics) I know the staff will back me. I lift in a gym that I don't teach at so I can work out with out the socializing aspect. I hate it when they don't rerack.. I am so with you Jen.. I am not strong enough to bring downt the bar on the smith machine if It has 5 different 45lb plates on each side.. and then how the hell I am even going to reach them without a chair to take them off one at a time. I turn into the hall monitor when it comes to this type of thing and totally go up and to them and tell them to rerack

but I am also with yall on the sweaty workout people.. we have cleaner and papertowels all over the gym for a reason.. clean the heck up.. I always carry my own towel and refuse to let any part of the bench, mat, etc tough exposed skin.. In my career teaching I have seen many a person get fungus from the gym equipment

and while I would never point out someone's bad form in a nasty be a dick kind of way I will correct you guy or girl if I watch you do several sets the wrong way.. my biggest pet peeve is the people with incorrect form for lunges.. I only care b/c they are going to blow out their knee doing it the wrong way.

ok see I could go on forever too.. and CutUp I am totally with you on the cellphone.. Unless you are have to have it for some emergency reason leave it in your car or locker..

ok thats all rant over

I hate it when people act like they can lift a lot of weight but it's only because they have wrong form. Like last week I was watching this guy doing leg curls. He flung it up, then dropped it just as fast while his gf was standing right next to him. I was trying not to laugh.

my rant was prompted by today's training session...dude I've know for years ALWAYS leaves a trail of un-racked used plates/dumbbells behind him...I've confronted him several times........... .......but today the shit hit the fan...screamin'..cursin'.. .....the amazing thing is......how the fuck can anyone possibly argue that they are right and it's OK to leave plates un racked?..Their reason is: the gym management gets paid to clean up.. I guess it's understandable if you forget or or unsure of proper gym etiquette but to think it's the right thing to do?.....
^ and what about the person that uses it after him? That's BS. I'd be mad too.

There's only two things that bother me at the gym...a) WAITING for a machine/lane in the pool and being cut in front of and b) when people don't wipe their sweat.
^^^ yes! hate ppl that camp out in the machine or work stations! whats worse is they would sit and just watch the television instead of standing up and lettin others use the machine.

fortunately, my gym isnt like a bally's, ny sports club, etc where you'll encounter lots of meatheads or other wanna-be's pretending they can squat a car. we hav a gym onsite so its mostly "civilized" corporate folks...

That pisses me off to no end. It happens every single time I go to the gym. I make sure I say out loud "I wonder which asshole left the weights on this time?" and then commence to taking off about 400 lbs worth of weights.

You make me want to go to the gym; your bum is seriously perfect. :O
