Slingbacks slipping - Advice please!?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, mods please move if it's in the wrong thread.

Anyways, I do love the look of slingback shoes, however I can't go without walking a few steps before they slide off. It's really annoying having to re-adjust the strap with every few steps. Does anyone else have this problem? Or advice they can provide?

I think it depends on the shoes....but yes, that happens a lot.

it happens to me a lot. i bought these cute aldo slingbacks last year & they fall off all the time so now i just don't bother with the backs. i leave them as is

Do those foot petal straps actually work!? And it's not so much the slingbacks that are adjustable (altho they can be a problem sometimes too) but the ones with an elastic back. Those are horrible and I have never ever been able to get them to stay on and I wonder if the foot petal straps will work on elastic slingbacks?

That is my question as well...I just got these new espadrille-ish sling backs...so cute!! And the first time I wore them the straps kept on slipping off (elastic - no way to adjust them smaller and I wouldn't be able to wear a smaller size shoe either). I really like them but without a solution I don't really want to wear them again. Would love to hear from people that use the foot petals...

I have found a great solution to this problem. 3M double sided tape. it will stick for hours and keep your slingbacks up.

i've heard only good things about footpetals....they make ones specifically for slingbacks. i'm too lazy to order them so i usually get the free heel pads when i buy shoes (just ask the girl at the counter) and cut a thin strip at the top and stick em to the slingback part, works great! lol this makes me sound so cheap. on other forums girls rave about foot petals though!

For slingbacks that aren't adjustable, I usually get my cobbler to shorten the straps so that it's more snug, or I use something called invisi-sole. It's a clear liquid that goes on wet/gummy but dries to a clear rubber. It works great for your shoes slipping, and areas where you might get blisters. It reminds me of the stuff they use to stick your new credit cards to the letter that you get in the mail. You can peel it off and it doesn't ruin any of your shoes!

for slingbacks made with elastic, take it to your shoe repairer and ask him to change them (cut and attach) into the belt-type slingbacks.

Wow nice! I love that liquid gel thing, I've got to try it!! As for taking the shoes in to have the straps tightened...does anyone know how much that costs?
