OT: How do I pay via Bank Transfer?

I won those fuschia crowns from the seller in Germany. When I tried to pay, it said I had to ask the seller what her bank account information is because it is not on file.

I've never tried this before - I emailed her to ask about paypal, and if not, how to pay via bank transfer.

Do you guys know?

TIA!

i dunno about that but i'd recommend only using your cc just b/c it's an international transaction

I'm not 100% sure but i think your bank info will be revealed to seller in this case when she views the payment on her statement. You'd need her sort code n account number
Its normal practice to pay via bank transfer in the EU but I think you get charged a fee for an international transaction.. ask to use paypal.

Hmm, She says she doesn't accept paypal. She gave me her accdount, IBAN, BIC and Konto #. Do I call my credit card company or what?

Totally clueless - thanks for your help!

I don't think your credit card company can do a bank transfer. You would have to go down to your bank and transfer funds from your account to the seller's account (which I presume would be an account with a German bank).
So really...you have no protection whatsoever. So if she decides to cheat you , you will never see your money again.

WHAT?

This seller has decent feedback - what should I do?

yeah, i think what theyre talking about is going to your bank and doing a wire transfer. you would need the IBAN number (which you have), thats sort of like an internation routing number, their account number, and depending on your bank, you might need thier bank's addy and the seller's addy. also, there's most likely going to be a non-refundable fee. the bank that i used to work at charged $40 for international transfers. and you have to make sure you provide your bank with correct information, because if the wire comes back for whatever reason, the customer is liable for that becuause you are the one that gave the info to your bank. theres no way a bank can make sure if the info you provided is correct. and if the wire does come back, you might get charged for that too. my bank charged $10 when wires came back.

and what rrcrazy said before is correct. you can put money into other people's account, but you cant get it back. they would have to be the ones that authorize it. just like if you made a deposit for a friend in to their account, you can put the money in, but you wouldnt be able to withdraw it because you are not a signer on that account.

Well she seems like a good seller - I guess I'll give it a shot - and make a claim via ebay if there is a problem.

I pm'ed you back Cindy - thanks for your help! I'll definitely return the favor if you need U.S. help!

Well it's not an enormous amount of money - and she has 400+ feedback, so I'm counting on her reputation.

Cindy - you need to clear out your inbox - I don't have any more information about her - that was all that she sent me...
