i am having my "down there" treated now. It feels like hot needles stabbing me very fast. IT HURTS, but i just bite my lip and bear it. and damn 8 sessions and 4 more to go. PAIN PAIN!

get it, its worth it....

^If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost per session?

i wanna do my pits and down there too !!!

abby - i got it for dirt cheap b/c it was on promotion and my friend also worked there. for 12 sessions i paid $700. Its usually thousands for just a couple of sessions so I got lucky.

^Oh wow! That's awesome! I guess I'll just have to dream of having it done for now or at least til i'm out of the rents house lol.

gosh i'd better start saving
i hate body hair, i want to get it done basically everywhere from my neck down! lol but seriously, i think I have thicker arm hair than my BROTHER...ugh
I would love to get armpits & bikini area done though, seems like it would be really convenient (but painful?!)

My friend (Asian) had her underarms done and it just came back about 6 months after treatments were stopped.

Yeah I also read it's not exactly permanent as claimed.
I still want to try it out....but not for $1000s when it doesn't stay permanent.

I'm told it isn't as permanent because her hair is black.

oh no.. then it won't work for me.. seriously.. those stupid cream and hair removal lotion that says to put on and wipe off or wash off things don't even work on me.. I tried like a zillion kinds and times.. i put on.. all kinda ways and technique.. my hair is too thick and strong i guess... sob sob

did ur friend go see the doctor the treated her Liz? did they say anything? offer more treatments or anything at all? that must be frustrating

They said there was no guarantee of permanent hair removal. Just the possibility of permanent hair removal.

Stick with waxing, the dipilatorie creams never work and they stink!

My friends use epilators. They seem to be fine with the pain it gives you. I tried it once and it hurts like hell especially at the underarm area. Gosh summer is here and I gotta start shaving my legs everyday again... I don't even wanna think about it.

Agreed.

Emla works for the pain (skin numbing cream) and it was worth the 12 sessions of somewhat hell for what I think are pretty incredible results. Not every single hair will be removed permanently but I think my technician got a good 90% of growth and I can still go in for touch-ups if I want to.

As for deals... I'd keep your eyes open for promotions. Because it's getting more and more popular clinics are popping up in most major cities offering LHR. Try to get a package deal if you can and make sure you know what you're getting into in the consultation. Those that have only gone once, twice or inconsistently will get lousy results so make sure you know it's a commitment for a good year. Ask about the equipment and if your skin/hair type is compatible with it. And most importantly... find a technician that you trust and like! You don't want just anyone messin' around down there!

wow...do they only do the top portion or is it the entire area

how then would it be for asians with black hair to get 'down there' treated?.. i think its true that asians have thicker/darker mounds compared to caucasians... am I right?.. won't the success rate be lower then?

I would love to do this too but haven't found a place I trust enough. I want to go somewhere someone else I know has already been.
