Yes, but how ironic for the Oilers to pull a rather meaningless win when they needed to lose in order to secure a possible first draft pick. Well done, Edmonton.
WEST: Well, gotta go for the home team: Calgary... been a season ticket holder for years, for better or worse.
EAST: New Jersey or Buffalo
Question for any of you... when your team gets eliminated, do you cheer for "the Canadian team" or "the American team"? (Or any other geographically appropriate teams for the sake of patriotism) For instance, last year I got a lot of flack for not cheering for the Oilers but there was no way I could -- I'm no bandwagon fan and that damned (but good-natured!) Calgary/Edmonton rivalry runs deep.

I didn't necessarily cheer
for the Canes; I was pretty impartial. I just watched the game and enjoyed my beer. Oh, and I pocketed 50 bucks when I had bet against the Oilers with a ranting, obnxious, ingrate of a "fan". The same buffoon was rubbing tonight's win in my face and my whole lack of "national pride" came up again. Which I think is rather silly since Carolina had almost as many Canadian players as Edmonton did. Am I lacking in patriotism because I don't feel this burning need to "bring the cup back to Canada"? I mean, other than Calgary, my hometown, I would never choose my picks simply because they're Canadian. Thoughts?
