Scars and Sun

So I have a big scar on my knee from surgery almost 2 months ago. Is it bad to go tanning this early on even if I put sunscreen on? I have read that you should stay out of the sun for up to a year but obviously with summer and stuff that's not realistic.

So what do you think.... should I go for the tanning bed or just use a self tanner?

yes, it is bad. stick to the self tan.

Definitely stay out of the sun, especially if you have a surgical scar. Use the self tanning option.

no tanning bed! and if you go into the sun, lather up the scar with a high SPF sunscreen (though it's a good idea to put sunscreen all over yourself, anyways)

My husband has a pretty good scar on his chest and I put a high SPF chap stick on it when we're in the sun. It's easy to target and covers it really well.

^Oh that's awesome! I always have chapstick with me. I'll keep that in mind for summer.

Thats an awesome suggestion, easy to apply! Also good for tattoos! As they fade real quick in the sunshine!

So I decided to go with the Loreal Sublime wipes. They work awesome! I don't look orange at all!
