where to look for mens haircut? HELP!!

so my hair is getting supa shaggy by my standards, for the past 2 years it have mainly been a very mild faux hawk cut or just the messy look, since i have been to busy to get a haircut in the past 2 months it has become fairly long by what I am use to anyways, about 3" on top and an inch on the sides. I need somethin new and hot but not sure where to look. Usually I just look in GQ or Details at the ads but most of the pics are either shaved like 1/4 inch or the preppy brushed look....

What kind of style do you want? American, European or Asian?

Just find some magazines of the type you want. I know at least for asians there are hair magazines. Or you can do what the girls do and choose a celebrity and copy them.

how come this thread was voted 1 star? i was expecting something either totally tragic or offensive. total disappointment. 1 star.

Well don't look at me, it was 1 star even before I read the thread.

Boston, we need more pics of the head.
Hope we're not too late

1 star sounds about right.

what i do is find the best, stylist hair salon in town and ask for consultation for a new hairstyle. good hairstylists are trained to figure out good hairstyles based on your face shape and personality.

edit: oh, so it was you. should have figured lol

if youre referencing me i didnt vote the thread 1 star. you saw it before i did.

if i was going to vote anything 1 star it would be the two dudes at the aguilera concert. thats the epitome of one star.

I had the same issue. I saw the way Jake Gyllenhaal looked in Q last month and got that done. I've got nothing but good feedback so far.

I soooo want my hair to be like this mannn!! I want to go to a stylist and ask for something like this. I'm too afraid to go to one though b/c it seem like only girls go to stylists. And I'm afraid it'd come out bad lol.

I have this haircut and love it. It is so easy with little upkeep. You should do it.

THat is how my hair has been for about 2 years and I am looking to changed it, I have no gay friends to ask and whenever I have gone to a salon and asked for advice they aren't really that helpful (maybe I am at the wrong places), I dont want to drop $75+ on Newbury street, and I am looking for prob. a euro or american hairstyle, would nt look good with asian style....

I am thinking somethin similar but not quite as mohawky as it seems everyone has something like that now...

man up and go to a stylist. i used to have the same style but less fauxhawky (i always saw the fauxhawk as more trendy than stylish). only a salon would be able to give you properly textured hair like that. barbers aren't trained to know how to do that.

try to find one of the more recent American Crew lookbooks. they have lots of great men's cuts in it, and since it's American Crew, it is more on the masculine side than the metrosexual side (not that there's anything wrong with either per se).
