Yes, this happened to me! I just recently had a breast augmentation. And I did it entirely for myself believe it or not. Before I had kids, I wore a nice full, perky 34C. I loved it. Then I had 2 kids, nursed them both for 18 months each, went up to a 38DD and back down to the saggiest and most deflated 34B. I'm a tall girl so it did not look proportionate at all. It also took a toll on my self esteem and that does have a lot to do with society. If we weren't such a boob obsessed culture I'm sure I wouldn't have felt it so important to repair my breasts after pregnancy and nursing...
But anyway...
I asked for a full C and came out with a DD. Although I must say that I'm happy and my plastic surgeon did the right thing. It's very proportionate with the rest of my body and gives me a nice hourglass curve. I'm 5'9" so I can handle a larger size without looking crazy big. And honestly, I think it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I can wear tops now without having to worry about how I'm going to make it look good with a big padded bra. I can go braless and I have more confidence. My husband is not even a boob man so it was definately not done for him!
