Vuitton monogram Pouchette question?

Hi guys,

This looks pretty good to me, the inside (not pictured) looks nice too and with serialno. The only thing that I cant help wondering about is that the strap looks kind of weird, its like there's an extra hook on it? I know there's supposedly a Vuitton "keyring" that looks like this, but why on earth would you spend close to $70 on a $200 bag to extend the strap with just a few centimeters?

The bag should have been bought in 2004 according to reciept (but I know these can be faked too).

I know I am way too picky when it comes to Vuitton but I just want to me 110% sure since I know there are so many fakes out there.

The kink in the strap might be from storing the strap tucked into the purse and zipping it across. I know that happens to mine when I tuck them away and zipper up.

also yes, that's the pochette extender.
