Alternative to Brazillian wax??

I really don't want to go get a brazillian and I usually shave so of course its not as smooth. Can you nair down there or something?
you can nair down there, but i find nair really only works on long(er) hair. so if you're already shaved, it probably won't work on stubble. and if you do try it - be very careful of your "more sensitive" areas... i've had a brazilian wax and as mortifying and painful as it was, it was the smoothest it ever was for at least 2 weeks! i stick to shaving now - the bf doesn't seem to mind!

great timing for this topic! i was recently wondering the same thing about a few days ago. it's starting to get annoying to shave. and i gotta wait a couple days so that i get smoother results. hassle! i'm tempted to try nair but heard it's not a idea for that area? anyone actually already nair it?
i tried nair once, lol. that was a NO-GO! that shit BURNED!

i've been lazy cause i have nobody to impress or nobody to you know, hah. i've been wanting to do a brazilian though but i'm scared!
I could never do it as I can not stand pain that bad. I would not use nair either because of the burn. If it burns your legs imagine what it will do there.

I do my own brazillian. I have a professional grade wax warmer and all the supplies at home.

I am very flexible.

i think nairing down there would irritate the skin because its super sensitive, i was afraid of brazillian at first too until a co-worker dragged me with her to try it at least once, it did hurt the first couple times but honestly around the 4th time it doesnt hurt anymore, you kind of get use to it. I really dont like shaving because i hate how it grows back sooooo thick and i get scared and have trouble shaving everything when i put the razor down there

Alright, now that is just down right bragging!!!!

I tried waxing my upper lip (on my face) one time, THAT hurt like a mother....

Brazilians are so freakin awesome! Got my first one a couple months ago and I loved it...Nair works though, but it's kinda funny applying it, walking around naked waiting the 5 mins or so for removal...haha. Ive done it and it gave the smooth as a babies bottom effect...

Ive tried Nair on my legs and it burnt holes into my skin, I had scars for months. If it would do that to my legs, I cant imagine what it would do to your intimate parts. If you are tired of shaving I would just suck it up, take some advil and get waxed. People who tell you it doesnt hurt are numb from the waist down. In my experience it is the worst pain ever but it lasts for .25 of a second so before you can even think about it, its all over.

^Yup, it's best just to get a brazilian - it's not as bad as everyone thinks. Just do your research on Yelp and make sure you get a good esthetician who can do it fast and as pain-free as possible. The pain doesn't even make me blink anymore, and now I've started going to nail salons that will do it for $35.

been getting the brazilian for years now.. I could not do without it.. I go to a lady who charges me $25 but one salon here charges $60 .. I would not pay that...

if you are worried about the pain they say don't do it the week before or after your cycle and also to take an asprin 30 min before.. I think I did follow this routine the first few times I ever had it done

but frankly it does not even phase me anymore...

aaahhh I'm looking into waxing... this shaving routine sucks! Is it awkward at all?

This reminded me of the time I tired to do it by myelf. The first pass I cursed like a trucker, the second I lost footing with the leg up and fell and hit my head on the toilet.

Then I was crazy enough to go have it done by a professional and I must say, it was smooth but it was painful, very painful. The little slapping they do right after didn't do much. Maybe I was close to my cycle. Loved it but man, I couldn't do it again. But it was SMOOOOOOOOTH!

The brazillian kills... but the results are soooooooooooooooo worth it. Hassle free for weeks!

I'm looking into laser removal... has anyone done that before?
my gf got it done for her wedding gift from her fiance.. she loved the results.. she had to go several times.. I can find out exactly how many and she said it was a little painful but right up there with waxing..

My friend had laser hair removal for her legs. She says it feels like hundreds of fast little pinches. She can't imagine what it feels like with a Brazilian.
Eak... sounds painful. But still, if its permanent, its worth the hassle.

Alternative: grow a hairy bush.

^^ hahahaha. well said, venus.
i've used veet down there before bc i find it much gentler than nair (nair gives me rashes on my legs after i use it so i dont even wanna try down there) but you have to be SUPER careful about it...results are pretty good (much better than shaving) but if i had the $$ to get regular brazilians i'd def opt for that instead

i once entertained the thought of epilating down there.....but it hurts like a mother on my arms already so i think id die if i brought it any further south.

I'm in the process if getting that done right now...just had my 8th session last week, 4 more to go. IT HURTS! literally feels like hot needles stabbing you hella fast.

I used to get a brazilian every month and it was expensive so i decided just to zap it off since it was cheaper for me in the long run. At first the pain is horrifying but I found it to be therapeutic.

ladies in the bay are if you need a reputable place go to Glow Spa in San Mateo. it's $54 for brazilian but they do a REALLY good job. Glow Skin and Body - San Mateo spa

i never want to go back to shaving!

i'm seriously debating laser. i'm gonna do my legs first and see the results.

i tried it on my underarms, but there was hardly any difference after 5 sessions.
I wanted to try laser. But when I went to a dermatologist to get a consult.... they couldn't guarantee it to be permanent. I didn't want to spend that money just to have it grow back.

DON"T NAIR!!!!! I do my thighs in the summer and it works great.... so I tried it on my bikini... YES it burned and gave me a major rash.

I have been waxing exclusively for years now. Mostly b/c I get major shaving bumps. But I only sometimes do full brazilian w/ a little strip. Mostly I just get the sides and top waxed and shave the underside cause that doesn't seem to bother me (less painful too )

Anyone in the NYC area that can recommend a good waxer?
My cousin used nair and it worked. I wouldn't put it on the sensitive areas, though. I've had brazilans before and I didn't like it. It grew back about 10 days later and I had to go every 2 weeks. I rather shave. It's much cheaper.
