I just got a pair of G Star Midge in raw and love them...I have only worn them one day so far as i bought them super tight...they did loosen very nicely after 12 hours though...I got them in chicago at the g star store with much help from my friend vandal....
I found that the g star ran big...I am usually a 27 in jeans but bought the midge in a 26/34...they are a straight leg cut...they are nice ladies...
anyone else have g star raws...i would love to see pics of the progress...

dry denim is unwashed/untreated denim which is why they're so dark. they're still fully saturated with indigo. the point is to wear them a lot before and not wash too much so that the indigo is lost the most at where the jeans naturally crease. the theory is that after a lot of wear, the jean creases will conform to your natural body, and when washed look like treated denim only with a personalized wash.

doesn't gap or somewhere sell some decent faux-dry denim? they look and feel like dry denim but i have a feeling they aren't. maybe i'm making this up, i dunno.

Gap sells some Japanese selvedge denim that is dry.
Gap had some before, I don't know if they made them for women, but they had them in a couple mens cuts.

so for denimbirds size up about 2? nudies size up 1? i heard that dry denim usually stretches. i guess not.
^ i would size up 2 for both
Size up 2 for the denimbirds as well??
Feifei...sorry i edited i already read your sizing info that you posted...Sorry...
I am a pretty standard 27 in regular denim and bought the denimbird bootcuts in a 27...but bought my g-star raw in a 26...
The lady at the store told me they run small(denimbirds) but i need them snug at first...like really snug since i do not want them to stretch out so that i look like i am wearing a diaper...
What do you think???
I will squeeze into them regardless, but was curious how yours fit...and how much they have stretched...
^ you bought your denimbirds in your usual size and they just fit tight? i would like tight but i'm scared i won't even be able to pull them on.
i'm a 25 and bought my denimbirds in a 27. I've had them for 1.5 years now and they fit like they do in the pics, so i don't think they stretch that much. My nudies (size 26) is PAINFULLY tight, still waiting for it to stretch, like almost can't pull on tight

Yeah, DEFINITELY size up 2 for denimbirds, at least the dry bootcut stretch...I'm a TTS 26 and had to sell my 26. I got them when I was a TTS 25 and even then they were skintight (The actual waist measurement was 26" when I got them).

update: my nudies aren't as tight today but i definitely still have a HUGE muffintop. I definitely could have sized 2 up. i think i'll be sporting this muffin top for a while.

Update...
I got my denimbirds bootcut today. Like i had said prior i bought them in my regualr denim size of a 27...and they fit me perfectly. If i had sized up 2 they would have been way to big for sure. The waist on my 27's is 28.75 flat so though i have a little bit of muffin toppage i can button them easily and can breathe, so the sizing up must depend on how you are shaped or something.
I just wanted to add it in since everyone was saying to size up 2.
I personally found them fairly true to size for my body type of course....
and THEY ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

as you can see from the pic, the zipper doesnt make it all the way up.. lol. they're from last april.

unfortuantely they're so tight i don't wear them often. which is too bad.. i'd love to see the progress on the wash as i wear them.

You should dip whatever area of the denim is too tight in water and wear them.

Should stretch out a bit.

^if you dipped dry denim in water though, it would bleed a lot + lose indigo

I'm speaking from experience.

washing them would make them lose color, getting them a little wet for a second wont do much.

Ilovshopin, where did you get your denimbirds at? I want another pair!
Jessani i got them from mycatwalk.com that aussie site. They only had 27's available when i ordered mine...I am not sure what they have now, but if you can wear a 27 in them you would be set. There is that coupon code too...!!!

^ you'll just have to be careful not to wear light colored shoes and tops. trade off is beautiful customized jeans i guess.
