Official Authenticity Superthread

To honor Narciso's idea, and try to clean up some of the authenticity clutter, please use this thread to ask "is this real?"

by consolidating all of the threads on authentication - we can clean up the diesel section, and lend a helping hand to those unsure of a pair's authenticity.

so please, post all authentication questions and pictures in this thread - thanks for your time!

Hi, I'm new. I figured I'd add the first authenticity check on this post. These are a pair of jeans I've had a while, and I wanted to know what they really were. It's weird how the tag says "made in hong kong." Maybe there's a legit story behind this?

the wierdest thing for me is they are zathans 708's and yet the tag says "kratt"

the curvature of those whiskers is unlike real pairs, and is extremely similar to the parallel whiskers that can be found on many fakes

i still think they ones in question are fake.

the whiskers that do curve, curve upward slightly, rather than downward "U"

I figured they were fake, since they don't fit like zathans... more like a very loose pair of kratts. Even so, why is the embroidery so accurate? Maybe the factory that produced the legit versions decided to do some off-the-clock work for the black market? (/speculation)

Did I buy fake X-Rotuck 80Q's? They are also missing the tag that has the model and wash on it...I can post pics of the jeans if necessary.

P.S. - It's about time we started this thread, great job BC3!

Im sure some fakers set up the factory to do a large run of these babys. They went for a good buck when they were new. So it must have been worth the money to take the time and make some fakes.

Also , the real 708 wash looks much more evenly ditributed ( grey dirt and fading). These look like they missed parts when they were dying them...

can someone verify this yusher jeans?

Hello everyone. Im kinda new to the whole diesel denim so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this one is real or not:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-DIESEL-Yusher-Jeans-NWT-W32-L32-2006-Collection_W0QQitemZ300005417523QQihZ020QQcategory Z52791QQcmdZViewItem

There is no information about the yusher in diesel's website and even in this forum when I did a searxh so could anyone tell me how they fit and if this auction has the real deal. Thanks much in advance!

I can't say with any certainty that those Yusher jeans are fake, but I CAN tell you that the seller has a bunch of fake Diesels for auction. For example, take a look at the "Yariks" he's selling - they don't look anything like the examples on the Diesel website. Compare the number and location of the belt loops, the style of the pockets, the embroidery (or lack thereof) on the back pockets, etc. Also, his feedback has a couple of neutrals and negatives that report authenticity issues. So, I think it's safe to say you'd better stay away from that one.
