hahaa @ Batman
well as initially assumed the new ipods are not in stores yet. today was simply an announcement.
anyway the touch one admittedly is pretty cool. 16gb however is a fucking joke for a portable music player. BUT the wi-fi and browser capabilities as mentioned above somewhat make up for that (obvious compensation for the laughable storage capacity). it makes perfect sense though. with all the rumors that this thing would be stylistically identical to an iphone (with its crap storage), did you really think Apple would be able to fit ridiculous amounts of storage in the same dimensions as the iphone where the maximum storage is only 8GB?
clearly Jobs and his group of trendsetters haven't yet perfected a way to include large amounts of storage in these fancy new touch style gadgets. to me it doesn't matter much since im not one of those people who must carry around every single song i've ever heard. i'm pretty good with 5000 songs personally. with that said i think the new 'Classics' will easily conquer sales of the touch screen with their amazing storage capacities of 80 and 160gb and an excellent price to boot. it always makes me laugh how incredibly pissed the apple fanboys get when they can't have it both ways (read Digg.com and you'll know). really if you're into innovative, stylish and trendy toys then go buy the touch screen. if you want practicality go buy the new Classic.
