SFAM just got purchased by another company for $700 million!!!

I wonder if the sale of SFAM will change the quality of the jeans. Somebody at SFAM just got VERY VERY RICH!

I bet SFAM will sell their samples to the public now.

When Liz Claiborne bought Lucky about 6 years ago, I started to see Lucky at Costco!

YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS SFAM OR SEVEN. If it was SEVEN, then I don't really care. Sorry, I'm confused!

I didn't read it. Corporate counsel for AG is a very close family friend and he advised me that he said SEVEN, (but in our lingo that means SFAM) was purchased for $700 million!. Anyway, when something big like this happens in the industry, the story spreads like wildfire. The whole story has not yet been released, but it appears that a bunch of investors purchased the company.

Joes Jeans was recently looking for investors to keep the company afloat and fortunately, Joe's found the investors who did not change the company or quality of jeans that much.

The founders of True Religion got about $81 million for going public. If Mike Ball ever goes pubic I would be surprised. The jeans are not just his job, they are his life, a reflection of him.

OT: Wow what a wonder job to be corporate counsel for a designer denim corporation! I graduate from law school in a few months...that would be a dream job for me! Although usually you have to start at the firms for a few years...I'll keep dreaming

at least it's an apparel company and not a hedge fund.
they'll want to keep things the same.

I hope that SFAM's quality stays the same and the don't start selling directly to Costco. I hope that the business doesn't change their suppliers, because SFAM has their denim dyed by my cousin's husband. Yes, the apparel industry in L.A. is a small, and can be close knit community depending on the people.

I think once Liz Claiborne bought Lucky dungerees, Luckys started being stocked on a regular basis at Costco locations

Have you ever noticed that some or the high end jeans are carried only by Costco online? Such as AG and Rock & Republic. Those two brands DO NOT SELL DIRECTLY TO COSTCO. AG actually filed litigation documents to determine how they got the jeans from & costco refused to give AG an answer claiming it is a Costco Trade Secret???!!! Whatever!

We think it may be a couple of vendors who purchase directly from AG to stock their Bricks & Mortar boutique and sold their stock of AG & ROCK & REPUBLIC to Costco that was not moving.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but 7FAM are available at Costco. I'm not 100% sure if they stock some of them at the actual Costco stores (quick search, someone did say they saw them at Costco).

However, even if they only sold at Costco.com, the prices are still in the $120-140 for 7FAM, which is a small discount. Personally, I think people are still going to get their 7FAM, from other online stores, from B&M at retail (because of a certain wash), or from other places at discounts (RACK, etc...)

Belgianese? Belgian + Vietnamese = Belgianese.

I hope they don't move production overseas or change the quality. I would no longer buy their jeans if they started making them in, say, China. One of the reasons I buy SFAM is because they are made in the USA. (Yes, I know they are made of imported materials, but they are constructed in the USA...)

LV is owned by LVMH... which stands for Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy which was formed through a whole lot of mergers between the big luxury houses.

lol the northface quality and designs went to trash after VF took over years back. the shit northface spits out today is a slap in the face to the true vintage quality Northface was known for back then. NF now just produce mass products of cheap crap to the general public, not even for outdoors sports anymore. what a shame.

hope sfam doesn't go down hill like nf, in terms of quality and designs.

I do agree that VF screwed up big time with the North Face (well not as bad as say Mossimo and Target), NF doesn't have that name/branding that it used too.

However, if you look at Nautica and John Varvatos (I haven't seen how their sales have been) but I don't believe there has been any decline in their brand association as to quality/fashion/design.

So hopefully, they'll keep it the same for 7FAM.

Wow, this is surprising to me. I really hope that the quality of the jeans do not change, because I really love SFAMK jeans.
