Stella McCartney’s resort collection was inspired by Hawaii, so it only makes sense to extend that to the denim portion of the collection. From far away, the denim from the collection almost looks like acid-wash or a dyeing technique, but on closer examination, the palm tree pattern can be seen.
I love how subtle it is! Stella explained her inspiration, “Denim is something that’s already ingrained in everyone’s wardrobe. So we played with it to give it a new twist.” The pieces retail for $995 (jacket) and $665 (jeans) and will be in stores in January.
Here is a look at the new Stella McCartney Spring 2012 collection. Stella showed what she did best, clothing for women. Every season she just knows how to make the clothing fit the women’s body. Whether it be to hide it or enhance it. The clothing just fits.
For this season she was inspired by athleticism. Which is just a natural progression being that she will be designing the uniforms for London at the 2012 Olympic games. She also showed a trend that slowly creeps up the fashion radar, pajamas. I love to wear the pieces separately, but I don’t think that anyone can wear a full pajama out. The shirts with jeans will look amazing together and the pants with a tee and blazer would be heaven. You can click the images below to see some of the looks.
Stella McCartney was seen in Paris, leaving her fashion show with one of her daughters. Her other children, husband and dad, Paul McCartney were also in the audience. Naturally, Stella was wearing a pair of jeans from her own line, which she paired with strappy sandals and a tie front blouse. I’m not entirely crazy about the boyfriend style of her jeans, they look too big, especially from the back, how they’re sagging in the butt. For a causal outfit, these could be cute but not to a fashion show!

Claudia Schiffer is really becoming quite a regular on DenimBlog now! She was seen dropping her children off at school like usual but the second spotting she was seen heading to a photo shoot as well. Claudia wore a pretty similar outfit for both days.
She chose a button front denim skirt by Stella McCartney, sandals, a blouse and a scarf and she switched it to a tucked in blue shirt and no scarf for the other outfit. Which look do you prefer on her? It seems like Claudia is a huge fan of Stella McCartney! I wonder what we will see her in next?
