For this week I wanted to take on the idea of incorporating summer pieces into the winter with layering. This R13 Double Denim Jacket in Cement Black is the perfect piece to do just that. It takes the Rhode Resort Erin dress into a territory that it is not usually associated with.
As the dress is still on the lighter side, I played with layers some more by adding this hoodie by R13. With the help of the slightly oversized cut and slits on the side, the piece doesn’t hinder from the ethereal flow of the dress. Then to keep the slight ’90s vibe going on, I chose a pair of boots by Rag & Bone to add some winter weight to the look and a textured bucket bag by Rachael Ruddick to add some contrast. How many of you are incorporating some of your summer pieces for the winter?
The Trucker Cape by R13 is definitely a very forward piece to have in your closet. Though unique, I find that it is a great piece for the coming spring season. Which is why I chose the jacket to style three different ways this month. You can see how I styled the it below.
I wanted to do a really clean casual look with this one here, yet one that still had a bit of edge to it. I chose to pair the cape with a dress by Helmut Lang. I found that the clean lines and length of it works really well when paired with the cape and high-top green Vans. As this is a look that I pictured to be worn on a casual day out, I wanted accessories that also carried that same vibe. I finished it with a backpack by Opening Ceremony to carry your belongings and a pair of Ray-Ban aviators to add that bit of classic cool to the look.
This look popped into my head when I first thought about styling it. The idea of it paired with some classic black trousers, like these by J Brand, felt like a natural combination to me. As I felt the shape of the cape lends a more street cool to it, I wanted a shoe that had that same aspect and the original Adidas Superstar sneakers are just hat. They are perfect for the pants whether they are bunched at the ankles a bit or more cropped. I then added a classic t shirt by FRAME for its fit and drape. Like the look above, I wanted to keep accessories simple and finished it off with rings by Margiela. They help elevate the look without taking away from the overall feel.
For this look here, I wanted to do something that could carry on past spring and into the warmth of Summer. My first thought was a skirt and this A.L.C. one is perfect for just that. It is lightweight and in a print that is so fresh for the new season. With the idea of warm weather still in mind, I chose a classic white tank by T by Alexander Wang. The simple piece helps bring the vibe into fruition. Warm weather is nothing without a great pair of sandals and these by Schutz add the sense of glamour of a European vacation to the overall look. As a finishing touch, a cuff by Jennifer Fisher to elevate it even more.
-So how many of you are rethinking the edginess of this cape? How many of you are thinking to add a more feminine touch to it?
We have seen Heidi wear these jeans multiple times before, but this is the first time we have seen her not pair them with boots. Though I do prefer the pairing with the boots as they add edge, I find pairing them with the pumps to give the jeans a smarter chic vibe, especially with the blazer. Which way do you prefer Heidi styling them? You can click here to purchase these jeans from BLUE&CREAM.
Gwen Stefani was spotted on her way out after her regular acupuncture appointment in Los Angeles, California. The singer wore a pair of the new R13 Leather Harem Shorts with a graphic t shirt and some Margiela boots.
I love that we are getting sightings of Gwen in R13 as I know she will be interested in their more forward styles. She is one that can definitely pull them off effortlessly and look amazing in them. I can’t wait to see what she wears next. I would love to see her wear their layered denim shorts as she will for sure style those like no one else.
