Gwen Stefani took the stage with her band No Doubt at the City of Hope Gala in Hollywood, California. The singer went back to her signature ska eclectic look with a pair of R13 Vedder Shorts with a ripped shirt and her favorite L.A.M.B boots.
The moment I first saw these shorts, Gwen came to mind. Well the plaids in general by R13. The way they are cut just suits her personal style to a t with the drop crotch and interesting details like the wrap around like these. They are absolutely perfect for her. Caroline de Maigret did a profile for online retailer Matches styling pieces from the store. In one of the photos taken, the model wore a pair of the R13 Skinny in Black Marble w/ Rip with a shaggy jacket and some lace-up boots.
Caroline de Maigret has to have one of my favorite model-off-duty styles of all time. She prefers very masculine tailored pieces most of the time, but somehow makes them feel feminine with her persona. It’s definitely a style that she has perfected and feels true to her. I wanted to go for something that had the same vibes as double denim without actually being so. I love the idea of a suede button-down shirt and chose this one by Neil Barrett. It gives off the same vibes as double denim, but with the mix of textures, helping take the look away from that casualness. I chose these Robert Clergerie brogues because I didn’t want to go for the usual sneakers or ankle boots as they will make the look too casual. These keep the outfit feeling smart without it feeling stuffy. Then to finish the look off, a beanie by Jack Spade and a backpack from The Row
