As you know, Mavi recently hosted an art competition called ‘What’s Your Brooklyn’ where Mavi welcomed New York City artists to submit their mural designs based on what Brooklyn means to them.
Kate Wilkes, was selected as the winning artist. You can see the video above of her painting her piece onto the wall of Mavi’s store, which you can find at Mavi Park Slope, 205 5th Avenue (5th Avenue & Union Street) in Brooklyn. I think it looks really cool and it’s definitely something different from a denim brand!
Mavi relaunched their new and improved e-commerce site on July 21st. Customers will be able to browse the site and view and shop the brand’s entire men’s and women’s collections.
To celebrate the re-launch, Mavi is giving away 50 free pairs of jeans (5 per day) to randomly selected winners who make a purchase on the site. Mavi is also offering 25% off and free shipping and returns to DenimBlog readers with code: DB25 (valid until 7/31). Happy Shopping! Click here to shop the new site.
Denim brand, Mavi, is hosting a store event on June 21st at their U.S. flagship store in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This will celebrate their “What’s Your Brooklyn?” mural design. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this campaign, from May 12th until June 6th, artists submitted their designs to Mavi for a chance to put their stamp on the iconic neighbourhood.
They were asked to create designs around the question “What’s your Brooklyn?” as an homage to the neighbourhood the mural will be located in. They had total freedom in expressing that concept in their design and now Mavi are ready to unveil the finished product from their chosen winner. All of the details are in the flyer above, so make sure you stop by!
Heidi Klum was spotted taking her children to get some frozen yogurt in Brentwood, California. The supermodel wore a pair of Mavi Alexa Mid-Rise Skinny jeans in Hawaii Laser Artist Vintage with a denim Henley and some sandals.
These jeans are done so well for having so many trends together all at once. From a distance, they look like a distressed acid wash, but up close you can see that they are sun bleached with palm leaves. I think keeping the wash in a blue definitely kept these jeans from crossing that fine line of feeling like too much. You can click here to purchase these jeans from Zappos for $118.
