On April 18th, 2012 G-Star RAW and Vitra launched the next Prouvé RAW furniture collection which includes a new iconic chair, Anthony, at Salone del Mobile, Milan. The Prouvé RAW collection is a respectful reinterpretation of furniture pieces originally designed by French modernist Jean Prouvé.
The Anthony chair was one of Prouvé’s last designs, combining an unconventional structure with a dynamic shape. Like the existing Prouvé RAW designs, the new interpretation of the Antony embraces quality, functionality, innovation, pure aesthetics and subtle design.
The original collection, launched at Art Basel in June 2011, featured 17 classic designs, of which 9 are being sold in a numbered edition. To follow up on the success of the Prouvé RAW designs in both the media and retail environment, also two additional designs have been made available to buy; Fauteuil de Salon and Compas Direction.
The iconic designs of Jean Prouvé have always been an inspiration to the G-Star team. Already for many years, some of his designs and original pieces have been present in several G-Star offices and showrooms. His focus on balance, logic and use of pure and raw materials, mirrors G-Star’s own product-approach. What do you think of the furniture collection?
Joe Manganiello was spotted with his girlfriend after getting some lemonade during Week 2 of Coachella in Indio, California. He wore a pair of G-Star Halo Rovic Art Loose 1/2 Shorts in Camo. Joe seems to be quite a fan of G-Star. He has been spotted in them quite a few times. I do think the jeans fit him very well every time we see him wear them out.
Going by the photos of the lack of clothing, Week 2 must be burning hot. The weather was a huge difference from the cold weather of Week 1. Did any of you readers attend both weeks? Which one did you prefer? You can click here to purchase G-Star from SSENSE.

Here is a preview of what’s to come from the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from G-Star Raw. I have 3 photos from the official press day (bottom 3 in the gallery) and my own photos which I took from the PR companies showroom. I didn’t photo the entire collection as it was huge, so I took a mix of women’s and men’s pieces which stood out the most from the denim collection and avoided most of the classic blues so I could show you something new from the brand instead.
They definitely went for Autumn/Fall appropriate colours with the dark oranges, browns, creams and red tones. They also had some motor cycle inspired jeans which are a lot different to the usual moto fashion jeans. This new take on the trend means that you can actually ride a motor cycle in them. They have reinforcements around the knees and they are more flexible for movement while riding. I thought they were pretty cool! They are the dark blue (almost raw looking) pair of jeans towards the right in the photos. I also liked the men’s denim jacket, it had some nice whiskering and fading.
Overall I think they have some great pieces. The women’s selection seems more subtle as well, it’s not as heavily branded as I have seen in the past. They have gone for more simplicity instead. I’ve also included some denim accessories which I thought were really interesting! What do you think of the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from G-Star?

Lana Del Rey was spotted on her way out of the Radio One Live Lounge in West London. She wore a pair of G-Star 3301 Straight jeans in Medium Aged. Lana has worn quite a few pairs of premium denim. I wonder which is her favorite brand so far?
I will admit that Lana’s music is borderline lullabies, but I don’t find it horrible. I do find the remixes and covers to be more interesting. My favorite so far has to be the John Meyer cover of Video Game. It has the same tone, but somehow has a bit more interest to it for me. You can click here to purchase G-Star at RevolveClothing.
