Here is a preview of what’s to come from the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from G-Star Raw. I have 3 photos from the official press day (bottom 3 in the gallery) and my own photos which I took from the PR companies showroom. I didn’t photo the entire collection as it was huge, so I took a mix of women’s and men’s pieces which stood out the most from the denim collection and avoided most of the classic blues so I could show you something new from the brand instead.
They definitely went for Autumn/Fall appropriate colours with the dark oranges, browns, creams and red tones. They also had some motor cycle inspired jeans which are a lot different to the usual moto fashion jeans. This new take on the trend means that you can actually ride a motor cycle in them. They have reinforcements around the knees and they are more flexible for movement while riding. I thought they were pretty cool! They are the dark blue (almost raw looking) pair of jeans towards the right in the photos. I also liked the men’s denim jacket, it had some nice whiskering and fading.
Overall I think they have some great pieces. The women’s selection seems more subtle as well, it’s not as heavily branded as I have seen in the past. They have gone for more simplicity instead. I’ve also included some denim accessories which I thought were really interesting! What do you think of the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from G-Star?

Lana Del Rey was spotted on her way out of the Radio One Live Lounge in West London. She wore a pair of G-Star 3301 Straight jeans in Medium Aged. Lana has worn quite a few pairs of premium denim. I wonder which is her favorite brand so far?
I will admit that Lana’s music is borderline lullabies, but I don’t find it horrible. I do find the remixes and covers to be more interesting. My favorite so far has to be the John Meyer cover of Video Game. It has the same tone, but somehow has a bit more interest to it for me. You can click here to purchase G-Star at RevolveClothing.

With Earth Day coming up (22nd April), G-Star thought showcasing their Spring/Summer 2012 RAW Sustainable line with you would be a great idea, and I couldn’t agree more! As Earth Day celebrates the planet, G-Star’s line fits in perfectly because it offers sustainable fashionable denim focused pieces made with 100% organic cotton!
For Spring/Summer 2012 a ‘cruise voyage sustainable’ feel is expressed through the blend of naval, utility-wear influences and feminine elements. The highlights include the high-waist Navy Flare, Navy Short and Navy Pencil Skirt which you can see in the gallery below. They blend typical naval button rows at the front pockets with G-Star Elwood inspired 3D effects.
The G-Star RAW Sustainable products seek to minimize environmental impact without sacrificing style. The RAW Organic range items only use natural manufacturing processes, minimizing the need for pesticides and other pollutants. I’m glad more and more brands are doing their part in helping the planet. I think the collection is nice too, I like the hooded denim jacket with the lace tie at the neck line.
I went to the G-Star press showroom in London just over a week ago to see the new collections. I saw the current Spring/Summer 2012 collection (in this post) and I also saw the new Autumn/Winter 2012 pieces (those will come in another post). I didn’t photo the entire Spring/Summer collection because obviously it’s already out, so what I did was selected a few of my favourite pieces, or pieces that I thought were quite cool and different, and spotlighted them here in this post.
My absolute favourite jeans would be the grey moto jeans, I love them! I think the wash is so pretty and the stitching and detail that has gone into them is really well done. They are beautiful! I also liked the dark blue skinnies, the dark blue denim vest/sleeveless jacket and the cropped boy style shorts. I featured two items from their Raw Organic line which are the flared jeans with the lace up tie and the light blue chambray shirt. They also had a vivid light blue denim mini skirt which I thought was different. So what do you think of these pieces?
