G-Star Raw have collaborated with Japanese stylist Tomoki Sukezane to create the G-Star RAW and Sukezane Radar Limited Edition selvedge denim collection which is unisex, made in a limited run of 600 pairs globally and is available on September 19th for $220. I have included the press release on the collaboration below as well as an interview with Sukezane.
G-Star RAW and renowned Japanese stylist Tomoki Sukezane have joined forces to share their passion for denim and craftsmanship on a unique denim design: the G-Star RAW and Sukezane Radar Limited Edition. For this collaboration, Sukezane provided a personal and modern interpretation of G-Star’s Radar denim silhouette by radically adjusting the fit into a unisex design, with an exaggerated tapered fit that is also wider at the waist, and use of unique embroidery for the stitching as well as custom back label. The G-Star RAW and Sukezane Radar Limited Edition is executed in a 13.0z Red Listing Berryl denim, woven on a vintage shuttle loom, and features an irregular warp slub and visible white weft.
“My first contact with G-Star Raw was when they were showing their collection at NYFW in 2007. After that I curated a Raw Night at Le Baron in Tokyo, which was a great experience and was the base for this collaboration” said Sukezane.
Sukezane has worked as a stylist for many years specializing in menswear in Japan, and has become a reference of style for the main men’s media titles as well as many Japanese celebrities. Sukezane finds inspiration in many things, such as movies, other artists and also in everyday life – as according to him everything links back to styling.
The G-Star RAW and Sukezane Radar Limited Edition will be available as of September 19th, 2012 at the world’s leading department stores in Paris (Gallery Lafayette) and London (Selfridges), the G-Star webstore and select US-based retailers listed: American Rag, 160 South La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036 – Atrium, 644 Broadway, New York, NY 10012 – Brigade, 26300 Cedar Road #1005, Beachwood, OH 44122 – Standard, 3393 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30326.
Joe Jonas stopped by King’s Road Cafe for lunch with all four of his brothers. We haven’t seen too much of the brothers lately, besides Kevin, who’s reality show just premiered. Has anyone watched it?
Out of all the brothers, Joe is most frequently featured on the blog, it seems like he tends to try a lot of different denim. One brand he is consistently spotted in is G-Star. He wore a pair of G-Star 3301 slim waxed jeans with a sweatshirt and pair of red leather sneakers. Check out what people are saying in the forum about G-Star here.

Since Summer has just arrived on our doorsteps, the denim jacket trend is in full swing. Celebs from Jessica Alba and Alessandra Ambrosio to Cameron Diaz and Katie Holmes have all been caught rocking their denim jackets and they have all chosen varied styles. Diana Agron opted for a white take on the trend while Demi Lovato toughened her look up with some spikes at the shoulders. Alessandra Ambrosio chose a cropped sleeve look while Keira Knightley picked a stone wash option. Mila Kunis, Katie Holmes, Jessica Alba and Cameron Diaz on the other hand, opted for the classic blues ranging from mid to dark.
I own quite a few denim jackets myself and I wear them as frequently as I can. The best thing about them is their versatility. You can pair them with your jeans as long as you pick a different colour denim, so you don’t have to sacrifice your love for jeans at all. If you do want to switch it up however, you can easily throw one over a floral dress in the day time or team it with a pair of printed or coloured pants. The denim jacket is a basic essential that is always a must have in my opinion.
Below I have chosen 18 denim jackets, all in a variety and variation so there is something for everyone. I have selected 6 premium denim styles from the likes of J Brand, Rag & Bone etc, but I’ve also chosen 6 more affordable options from stores like Topshop, Mango and more and to make things more bold I have chosen 6 fun denim jackets in neons, prints and colours from brands like Current/Elliott, Textile Elizabeth and James, Topshop and others! I’m actually not suprised to see Tulisa in the brand, I think it suits her very well as G-Star seems to be her sort of style. I haven’t heard much from her lately after her solo single, I wonder what she’s up to?
