This weeks denim review is on a pair of the Frankie B. Denim Hipster Overalls in Japan Blue. These are my second pair of skinny overalls/dungarees as I previously reviewed the G-Star pair. These are quite a lot different in wash, fit and material, so it’s nice to be reviewing another pair.
Here are our ‘Top 5′ choices that caught our eyes as writers this month. Whether you are on trend with some overalls or love an updated version of the classic blue or just cannot get enough black and gray, we have choices to cover them all.
The Frankie B. girl is as tough as ever this season. For Fall 2013, there was no lack of studs, mesh inserts, prints and more. One commonality they all have is the classic Frankie B. cut, their signature ultra low rise that covers just enough to allow coverage without sacrificing the rock’n'roll vibe with a slight hint of boho.
New prints this season are their skyscraper prints of New York and Los Angeles as well as a combination pair of stars and stripes. Daniella Clarke was not shy when it came to studs either. You will find everything from jackets to jeans to my favorite piece, the denim skirt (photo 12), all covered in them. A new textile this season is leather because the denim is just not enough for the ‘Frankie B.’ girl anymore. See these styles and more in their look book below.
Scenery print jeans are the next big print to happen to denim since floral. Next to release their interpretation of the trend is Frankie B. Whether you are from either the West or East Coasts, Frankie B. has a pair ready for you to rep your coast.
These come in their classic BFF Legging fit, so they are sure to be flattering on any girl. I say pair them with a plain t shirt and some sneakers to keep that classic tough Frankie B. vibe going. Which one are you looking forward to trying?
