DL1961 Jeans
DL1961 Spring/Summer 2013
DL1961 debuted their Spring/Summer 2013 collection at Pier 57 in New York City with a collection that captured the New York spirit. Sarah Ahmed, the brand’s creative director explained the inspiration behind the collection, “This season, DL1961 honors New York City’s rich heritage and gritty aesthetic by honing in on the effortlessly chic and glamorous lifestyle New Yorkers are known for.”
For men, the highlight of the collection was the bold slim fit colored denim, including purples, mint and red, which were paired with chambray button downs. For women, the collection featured colored and classic washes for skinny jeans and as well as pairs embellished with patterns, prints and beads.
One of my favorite pieces was the white and black leather and denim jacket! I love the white and black together and it will be perfect for spring. You can check out some of the images from the collection below.

DL1961 x Bag Snob Collaboration
DL1961 have just announced their new collaboration collection with blogger, Bag Snob. It’s called Snob Essentials and is now selling online at Bloomingdales. The new collection features 7 styles, each for different occasions or for the 7 days of the week. The jeans in the collection are called The Brunch (berry flares), The Cocktail Pant (leather patch at calves), The Travel Pant (zipper back pocket), The Everyday Jean (classic blue skinny), The Hipster Pant (brown checked skinny), The Black Tie Substitute (metallic tapestry print) and my personal favourite, The Transition Jean (ombre/dip dye blue).
Each jeans name represents the occasion they were designed for, for example The Travel Pant is perfect for flying because you can keep your ID secure in the zipper back pocket. I love the fact that there is a story and a purpose behind each one and I can tell that a lot of effort has gone into this collaboration. My favourite pair, The Transition Jean, like I mentioned above, is truly beautiful. We don’t often see a dip dye jean in such a rich jewel tone blue. Usually it’s bleach and denim, but the fact that it changes subtly from a deep navy to more of an aquamarine really makes me a fan. I would love to wear this pair! So which is your favourite pair from the 7 Snob Essentials collaboration?
