DL1961 Premium Denim has just released #ButtCam, a unique video showcasing a day in the life of a couple who spends their morning to night wearing DL1961, with the camera focusing on their rearview to show how their jeans never bag or lose shape. Shot in New York City’s most notable settings, the video is directed by Vincent Lacrocq and model Kristell Chenut alongside skateboarder and Founder of Along Brand, David Lopez.
Following the duo from the moment they slip on their denim through their morning routines, commuting, meetings, meals, nightclub jaunts and back home, #ButtCam personifies DL1961’s concept of “day to night denim” –jeans that can endure anything the toughest city in the world can throw at them. DL1961 depicts a lifestyle that encompasses the energy and hustle that the quintessential New Yorker experiences on a daily basis. From skateboarding across the Brooklyn Bridge, sliding down subway ramps to hailing a cab, #ButtCam captures the movement, vigor and ease of those traveling 24/7 in DL1961.
“Our customers lead extremely busy and active lives and need denim that can keep up with them,” said Sarah Ahmed, DL1961 Creative Director, who also worked alongside Vincent Lacrocq on the brands FW13 campaign. “We really wanted people to be able to relate to the New Yorker’s busy lives in the video which is why we chose to follow a real life New York City couple through their days journey.”
DL1961’s incomparable fit, innovative Italian finishes, and revolutionary fabrics, make the brand the go-to denim source. DL1961 keeps comfort, fit and retention possible with two key technologies, DLX and dlpro. DLX fabric is made using XFIT Lycra and cotton allowing four-way stretch and 360-degree movement. dlpro is an eco-friendly fabric made of wood, which is cooler than cotton and constructed to give the garment an incredible hand feel, vivid color and magnificent sheen.
Join the denim movement and share your videos with #ButtCam on Instagram now through January 10th. DL1961 will choose five winners who will be featured on the brand’s website and receive a $500 gift card to shop at their website. Do you think it’s cool? Good luck to anyone entering their contest too!
Ashley Greene and her boyfriend, Paul Khoury, were seen hand-in-hand after grabbing lunch at Romancing the Bean in Los Angeles, California a couple of days ago.
Ashley wore a pair of DL1961 Amanda skinny jeans in Seville with a black and white striped tee, a black blazer and black boots. It’s quite nice seeing more classic blue jeans out on the celebs lately. I do enjoy the bright colours, prints and leathers, but it’s definitely a refreshing change seeing lots of classics! I think the distressing on this pair is good! Buy these jeans online at Shopbop for $178. I also styled the Amanda in 3 different washes, 3 different ways (including this Seville wash). Olivia Wilde and a friend were snapped while grabbing lunch at a cafe in Los Angles. She wore a pair of DL1961 Skinny jeans and a Current/Elliott army jacket over a striped shirt with black booties. This is one of the first times we’ve seen Olivia out in DL1961 and I think she looks amazing. She has definitely been glowing since she announced her pregnancy!
Since Olivia’s style always has a bit of edge, I’d love to see her try out a pair of moto-jeans, like the Hazel jeans in Ducati. I think she’d look great in them and they would suit her style really well. You can buy DL1961 online from DL1961.com.
The Amanda jean from DL1961 is such a versatile cut, it can be worn with pretty much anything. DL1961 asked me to style 3 different washes in the Amanda in 3 very different ways, to prove how easy they are to wear. The Amanda is a great skinny jean, it has a 31″ inseam, a 8.25″ rise, a leg opening of 11″ and is one of the brands best sellers! It’s similar to the Emma in fit, but it’s skinnier and has a longer inseam. Now onto the styling!
