DL1961 Jeans
Styling DL1961′s Stella Shorts In Flash
For my second styling post, I got to create an outfit with DL1961′s Stella shorts in Flash wash and I had so much fun with it! I love the bright red of these with the subtle tie-dye print here and there. Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad was actually spotted wearing these shorts during the Coachella Festival last week, so since it’s festival season, I decided to go down that route with my styling.
For this outfit, I chose a Theysken’s Theory Orange Franky Bruna Blouse, a pair of ASH Bowie wedge sneakers in Stone, a Proenza Schouler PS1 Pouch bag in Nude and then I accessorized it with a Samanca Jewelry Dawn Necklace in Tan, a Soixante Neuf Crackle Horn Necklace in Turquoise, a Burkman Bros Two Color Black/Tan Knotted Bracelet and a Burkman Bros Bark Bracelet with Beads.
What I love about this outfit is it’s so bright and fun. I adore the orange and yellow tones of the shirt and combined with the red shorts, it really stands out. I chose a turquoise necklace because it pops so much against the orange, it’s a complete contrast and looks cute, layered with the other tan coloured necklace it adds depth.
I chose the Ash sneakers for comfort and because they have a hidden heel which will give you height, plus the fact I am obsessed with these, but unfortunately they sold out in my size everywhere. The bracelets just add some flare to the wrists and the nude bag, I think it ties the colours together nicely. What do you think of the look?

Styling DL1961′s Polka Dot Jeans
DL1961 have come out with some brand new jeans featuring polka dot print! They have their famous Angel cut in Bubble (above) and their Angel cut in Fizz (below) and both are gorgeous and super girly! I find the Bubble wash to be more feminine and the Fizz wash to be one that you can dress a little more versatile with. Either way, I had a lot of fun styling both of these jeans for this post!
For the Angel in Bubble, I went down the route of pastels in pinks and nudes and I think it gives a nice Spring feel. I chose a Malo cream cardigan, a Dolce & Gabbana light pink day bag, some Diane Von Furstenburg Dusty nude pumps and a Gorjana feather necklace. All of these items combined together really make the polka dots stand out and the blossom tone of the pink show through very well. I really quite like this outfit.
For this second outfit featuring the Angel in Fizz, I chose to keep the trend of pastels, but I opted for some brighter tones in mint and coral. I think these two shades compliment each other as well as white, so they go nicely with the wash of the jeans. I chose a Rory Beca Dol Long Sleeve Blouse in Mint Chip, some Carven coral suede heels, a Pamela Love gold pyramid necklace, a Proenza Schouler neon coral PS1 pouch, a Yves Saint Laurent turquoise arty enamel ring and a By Malene Birger beige amber fiorello ring.
DL1961 have also brought out their take on the floral and snake print trends which you can see below. I think the purple and blue combination of the flowers is really pretty. It’s interesting to see snake print in a mint colour as well. Both of these jeans are not out just yet, but they will be great for Spring once they are! So what do you think of these outfits I chose? And do you like the new DL1961 polka dot print?

6 Looks To Make You Coachella Ready
Music Festival season has started and the next one to come up is Coachella. The looks at music festivals make just as much of a statement as the ones from regular life and the red carpet. With each one there is a different vibe to how the attendees dress. One thing that all of these have in common is that denim is sure to be spotted. You can see the looks below to help you pack for Coachella and where to get them. Also, if you missed the line-up (which I highly doubt) you can look above to see who is performing.

Spring Pastels From DL1961
Pastel jeans are a hit this season and we must say we aren’t surprised. Since rich jewel colors seemed to dominate the premium denim market this past fall, it was only natural that come spring, everyone would transition into soft pretty and powdery pastels.
DL1961 Premium Denim has presented a collection that takes this trend to a whole other level. With their revolutionary XFIT technology and gorgeous color palette, their spring colors have been quite popular. So much so, that a celebrity of the Blogosphere, The Blonde Salad, was spotted wearing the pastels at New York, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks! With her classic good looks and admirable street style, she is the perfect model to wear these great jeans. Don’t believe us? See for yourself, check out the pictures here.

Kim Kardashian in DL1961
Kim Kardashian was snapped stopping for gas in Los Angeles, California a little while ago. She also ended up signing an autograph for a fan before leaving.
Kim wore a pair of DL1961 Emma jeans in Onyx with Louboutins and a mint green blazer. I think she looks really good here, I love the combination of the light green with the all black. Kim seems to have a wonderful collection of coloured blazers! Buy DL1961 jeans online at their website here.

DL1961 and their Creative Vision, a DenimBlog Exclusive Interview
Well known for its rainbow colors and amazing fit, DL1961 sat down with DenimBlog to give us the real deal on why they’re fabulous. What follows are excerpts from our conversation with Director of Marketing, Sarah Ahmed.
DenimBlog: Your company was founded in 2008, according to your website. Why are you called “DL1961”? What happened in 1961? Does “DL” stand for anything (e.g., Denim Love)?
Sarah Ahmed: DL1961 used to stand for Denim Limited but we shortened it to “DL.” The 1961 is not only the owner’s birth year but in Chinese numerology it adds up to a very lucky number.
DenimBlog: Who is the Creative Director of the Women’s collection?
Sarah Ahmed: DL1961 is a family owned and operated vertically integrated brand. The creative director [is also the] co-owner…Maliha Ahmed, a New York City-based denim designer and veteran of the denim world. Prior to launching the brand with her husband, she travelled all over the world working in different aspects of the denim industry from design to production.
DenimBlog: What is Maliha’s favorite aspect of designing for the women of DL1961? Who does she design for (e.g., urban 20-somethings, career 30-somethings, etc.)?
Sarah Ahmed: For Maliha, it’s all about the product and the fine details that go into making denim. She revels in discovering new technologies, like X-Fit, and creating fits that flatter every woman regardless of age and shape.
DenimBlog: What travels, cultures, books/magazines/blogs, films, music, vintage collections and designers, or trends most inspire Maliha when she’s designing a collection?
Sarah Ahmed: She is constantly on a plane travelling to and from Europe, Asia, and North America. This way, she can get a good idea of the global denim market and trends, and ensure that our product always stays above par. Having said that, her color inspirations usually come from her appreciation of world art and a keen eye for what is hot on the runways.
