Diesel Fall/Winter 2012 Campaign
Here is a look at the brand new Fall/Winter 2012 campaign from Diesel. Continuing the theme of ‘portraits for successful living’, Diesel’s Screen Test campaign puts fashion and strong personalities together to create a set of highly stylised performances to camera.
Iconic fashion photographer Steven Meisel creates the series of modern Screen Tests, featuring some of the most exciting contemporary models – Karen Elson, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jamie Bochart, Fei Fei Sun, Coco Rocha, Mirte Maas, Sid Ellisdon, Ethan James, Yuri Pleskun, Sallieu Jalloh and Dae Na – inviting each character to enter his frame and role-play to the camera.
Each subject is engaged in a creative, playful act, expressing their individuality with confidence and attitude; props swiped from a dressing up box provide the riff for each invented persona. On digital screens the incorporation of animated cinemagraphs allows each image to come alive with the slightest movement.
I think they are definitely fun campaign shots! I love how Diesel always use quirkiness and silliness in their shoots and it makes the brand stand out for what it is. Diesel never take their self too seriously and always have fun with what they do. What do you think of the new Fall/Winter 2012 campaign shots? Styling Diesel Thavar 801C for New York Speed
This styling post is on the Diesel Thavar in 801C for New York Speed. I find that many guys tend to go very simple regularly, especially during the Summer. So I decided to go for a very classic casual look, like the streets of Milan. I paired the jeans with a House of Howe shirt, G-Star shoes, and G-Star Jacket.
This is how I would wear this look. I would cuff the jeans to right above the rim of the shoes. Being on the medium/lighter side, I think, it would look more appropriate that way. I really think that you cannot go wrong with a military jacket. It can really make a look more put together without dressing it up too much. I think cuffing the sleeves would help keep your body stay cool without sacrificing style. Being Summer, I don’t think anyone would want to be fully covered. Ashley Tisdale in Wildfox Denim Shorts & Scott Speer in Diesel Jeans
Ashley Tisdale celebrated her birthday by playing with her doggy Maui and kissing her boyfriend Scott Speer on the beach in Malibu, California a couple of days ago. I thought that Ashley and Scott had broken up, but then I heard they got back together. They look really happy based on these photos so maybe the break did them good.
Ashley wore her Wildfox denim shorts over her bikini for the day and Scott chose to wear a pair of Diesel jeans. It always makes me smile when I see couples really happy together and just enjoying each others company, so I like these photos a lot. Not to mention that I love the shorts! I have always liked these since I first saw them a while back. Buy Diesel jeans online at SSENSE and Wildfox online at Singer22.com.

Diesel Black Gold Men’s Milan SS13
The Diesel Black Gold Spring/Summer 2013 menswear collection showed during Milan Fashion Week yesterday in Italy. The futuristic and anachronistic Steampunk world of the 1980’s/early 1990’s was reinterpreted with a fresh approach for todays’ men with a rock chic attitude. I have included some key looks from the catwalk and I have also included some front row shots of Adrien Brody and Renzo Rosso. Also in attendance was Bianca Balti, Matteo Ceccarini, Saturnino and Bob Cornelius Rifo.
Masculine tailoring infused with military and mechanical references: a play with details, proportions and high-waist silhouettes. Steampunk inspiration is accented with several strong technological and functional elements: jewellery buttons, metallic lace eyewear, bold zips, mechanical flowers, embroidered in tailored suiting and classic shirts. They are mixed with military-inspired constructions: a casual jacket with a elastic hem, which recalls the army underwear, a hunting vintage jacket with the typical arm protection shoulders detail, which is developed as prints and embroideries in different garments.
Contemporary elements come also through in the use of contrast textures, such as leather combined with suede, satin with Japanese microfiber, jacquard with rib, cool wool with leather, emphasized with technical and rich details to create a 3D effect bringing to life the collection. Denim is burned by laser, artfully distressed and artisanal engineered at the same time.
The colour palette is a playful melange of black navy and different shades of white, exploring the indigo tones, with clashes of intense pop-up colours – red, green, bright mustard, yellow, electric blue. The collection includes graphic geometrical stripes, applied in various treatments: as prints for knitwear, jackets, trousers and as distinctive element for shoes, bags and belts.
