Diesel Black Gold opened its first global concept store on London’s Conduit Street last week! Under Andreas Melbostad’s Creative Direction, the launch was hosted by Renzo Rosso and Andreas Melbostad himself to celebrate the new Diesel Black Gold store, a brand new boutique that represents the first retail location of its kind, globally.
With catering provided by Cellar Society, guests dined on canapes of Goat’s curd with crushed pea, mint and artichoke, Monkfish, pancetta and rosemary spiedini and bundled green asparagus spears, complemented by elderflower and mint collins, prosecco and wine from Diesel Farm. The music was also provided by 10Tigers. It looked like it was a fantastic night!
It wouldn’t be a Diesel event if celebs didn’t attend, so of course there were celebs like Stefano Rosso, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Kyla La Grange, Arlissa, MKS, Jack Fox, Ella Catliff, Nellee Hooper, Harriet Verney, Lou Hayter, Eloise Showering, Petra Palumbo, Severino Panzetta, Lady Victoria Hervey and Amber Anderson in attendance. Now the Diesel Reboot is complete, this is the foundation of the new vision for Diesel. From Titian and Tiepolo to Avedon and Arbus, a wealth of visual images is remembered and reimagined by Nick Knight and Nicola Formichetti to complete Diesel’s latest advertising campaign. Marking the beginning of a new era for Diesel and featuring Formichetti’s foundational collection for the brand, the ÔÇÿNeo-neoclassic campaign’ is a pop amalgam of the classical, the digital and the real.
Following the Diesel Reboot, both the foundational collection and this campaign, in many ways, look back to look forward. Each has its visual roots in the city of Venice – and the Diesel show and event held there on 3rd April 2014 – but just like the city and Diesel itself, both the campaign and collection essentially encompass a view of the past and an innovative route to the future for the brand. Stars such as Kiko Mizuhara sit easily beside net cast kids and musclemen. All are part of the new, democratically ÔÇÿglitched’, global community of Diesel.
