The Serpentine Gallery and Diesel, in association with Silencio, presented a line-up of live acts for their Future Contemporaries Party which was held last week. The annual fundraiser took place on 17 September 2012 in the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion which was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei.
The Party brought together the new generation of artists, philanthropists, collectors and opinion formers to raise funds for the Serpentine Gallery’s acclaimed art, architecture, design, education and public programmes.
The Kills headlined the event in front of the white columns of the Serpentine Gallery, and against the backdrop of the Herzog & De Meuron and Ai Weiwei’s visionary Pavilion. Earlier, in the pavilion’s canopy, Chicago duo Wild Belle performed a set of breezy pop hooks and island rhythms. There were also DJ sets from France-based Brodinski and London-based Trevor Jackson, who has worked with Soulwax and The Doves. They were joined by resident DJ at Silencio Erik Rug.
Food was created by Isaac McHale of The Young Turks and Daniel Willis of The Clove Club, alongside a bespoke cocktail menu created especially for the event by Rob McHardy Bar Manager from Silencio Paris and wine from Bibendum.
Some of the guests included: Nicholas Kirkwood; Amber Le Bon; Kate Moss; Kelly Osbourne; Liberty Ross; Renzo Rosso; Louie Spence; Harry Styles; Princess Eugenie of York; Sarah, Duchess of York and lots lots more! You can see some of the photos in the gallery below! It looks like it was an amazing event!

On set of the newest installment of the Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, Josh Hutcherson was spotted in a pair of Diesel jeans.
He wore Diesel’s Shioner 661D jeans with a white tee and sandals. Josh wore these jeans out to the Teen Choice awards over the summer. We haven’t spotted that many guys out in Diesel recently, so it’s great to see Josh wearing them. You can buy men’s Diesel jeans online at SSENSE.
Here are the images from Diesel Black Gold’s women’s runway show at New York Fashion Week. I have included all of the photos in the gallery below, with images 1-6 being the brands key looks for the season. I have also included their press release about the collection and show. What do you think of it?
Street style is given a contemporary polish in a discreetly sporty Diesel Black Gold Spring/Summer 2013 Collection! Urban skate parks, 90’s fashion imagery, and the eclectic dress sense of creative city dwellers inspired Sophia Kokosalaki to design a collection that merges the adrenalin-driven world of skateboarding with the poise and sophistication of the contemporary art scene.
Sportswear is cleaned up and smoothed down, resulting in slickly fluid garments. These are stealth skaters, flowing through the night on silent wheels. They wear rich, innovative materials: butter-soft leather, bonded fabrics and treated denim. Edgy pieces are tempered by a feminine sensibility, giving even masculine garments a subtle ambiguity.
Women wear sharply tailored jackets and pants, as well as trim shorts and boldly sexy skirts. Net appears on dresses to create a mysterious hide-and- seek effect, or is bonded with leather for an appealing contrast of transparent and opaque. The color palette is pared down to black and white, with subtle hints of color.
Prints are inspired by the obsessive detail of street art and skate park graffiti. The brand’s rock-chic DNA remains omnipresent, but the functionality of urban sports apparel emerges as tape on pants and strap effects on dresses. The result is an uncompromisingly contemporary and wearable collection for a demanding audience with a taste for luxury and a youthful spirit.
Katie Price posed for photos quite awkwardly at the Jeans for Genes launch party which was held at the W hotel in London, England last night.
For the launch, Katie chose to wear a pair of Diesel jeans. This time she ditched her usual Matic cut in favour of a pair of Fayza-Ne Jogg jeans in 661R wash. I really can’t say I like this outfit at all, nothing pairs well together and it looks quite boxy to me, but I do adore the wash on these! It looks great! Buy Diesel jeans online at SSENSE.
