Celebs in Denim: Rihanna in Current/Elliott
I love it when I’m browsing Revolve or any of the online Denim Websites and I see something and think to myself, “I hope a celeb wears that soon so I can blog about them because that is so cute!” One of my favorite websites is the Current/Elliott website, I think their denim clothing line is really unique and I’d love to own some of their shirts or dresses, but most things I lust for are always out of my price range. Rihanna has the pocketbook for stuff like this though! Here she is at the airport in a Current/Elliott Snap Jacket in Barn Dark Wash.

History of Denim Brands: Current/Elliott
Current/Elliott has been spotted on every celebrity and started the “Boyfriend” trend. But how did the brand get started?
Current/Elliott was born in summer of 2008, when Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, both stylists, met with friend Serge Azria. From this meeting, the girls shared their love for vintage denim and had a similar outlook of denim styles. This outlook paired organically with Azria’s visions and his innovative ideas, and voila! Current/Elliott was born!
Emily Current and Meritt Elliott’s vision comes from their experience in over a decade of styling for publications as well as celebrities. Their belief is dressing without rules and mixing high pieces and low pieces to create a fun and fearless aesthetic that is uniquely theirs.
Serge Azria is the more silent partner, as his name doesn’t appear in the brand title but he is far from non existent. Rather he is the CEO, creative director and the owner of the brand.
The brand has grown to feature jeans, shirts, shorts, dresses and skirts. They also released their first Men’s collection in Spring 2009.
Celebs in Denim: Reese Witherspoon in Current/Elliott
Reese Witherspoon was spotted shopping in Brentwood wearing a pair of Current/Elliott ex boyfriend crops, with a rather cute pair of gladiator sandals. The other day she was also seen keeping it casual in another pair of Current/Elliot boyfriend jeans, Converse sneakers and a beanie as she headed to softball practice in preparation for her new movie. She looks like she’s not even wearing make up!

I think the most popular Current/Elliott jeans right now are the boyfriend crop jeans, closely followed by the skinny which more and more celebs seem to be wearing.
