cult of individuality
I’ve done quite a few casual looks for my weekend outfits lately and I wanted to do something a little dressier. It wont be long before we are already approaching Fall and that’s my favourite time of year, so I’ve done a look that is centered around that. I chose the new Cult of Individuality Zen Midrise skinny jeans in Aeon Flux which will be released soon. I think the metallic print on these is gorgeous! It reminds me so much of Autumn leaves and rain drops!
I paired the jeans with a cropped top from 3.1 Phillip Lim as it’s still quite warm outside but then layered a black blazer from Stella McCartney to give it some structure and tidiness. I then finished it off with some Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels and a nude clutch from Michael Kors to keep it clean. I decided not to go with any jewellery for this outfit as I wanted the jeans to make a statement on their own. Sometimes less really is more when you have something busy going on.
Cult of Individuality has some exciting designs up their sleeve for the boys for Spring 2015! The new SS15 Vintage Workwear collection is completely inspired by classic designs from workwear pants of the early 1900’s.
Specific detailing is influenced by this era, including folding flap buttons, a branded leather patch and the waist cinching buckle, allowing you to go belt-less! How cool is that guys? You can see some of the new washes and fits in the gallery below.
Cult of Individuality say it’s time to get “Raw”. Beginning October 1st, the brand will be hosting its first ever Future Vintage Project. A raw denim challenge with a twist! All you have to do is commit to wearing a pair of raw denim from Cult as often as possible until April 30th, without hand or machine washing.
Each passing use and abuse will help to create a unique and natural fade, wear and “whiskering” effect, reflecting your own individual style. To keep things interesting, Cult is throwing in monthly challenges that will be sure to impact the overall finish of the jeans too. Sounds like fun right?
Throughout the process of breaking in your raw denim, you will be asked to document the progress with photos and videos via Facebook, blog posts, Twitter and Instagram – and tag it with #CultFutureVintage. The Future Vintage Project’s conclusion on May 1st 2015 will allow the participants to finally wash their jeans, revealing the finished product. They will post images of the final product, along with its name for Cult’s fans to vote on. The winner’s wash will earn a limited time place in Cult’s product line, and earn the wearer a $1000 cultofindividuality.com credit. You can sign up and check out more details here. I love this idea and I can’t wait to see some of your jeans!
Aaron Paul appears on the cover of this month’s Flaunt Magazine, which happens to be the magazine’s annual denim issue. He wore a pair of Cult of Individuality Rocker slim jeans in Dry for the cover shot.
He also wears a few other pieces from the brand, both denim and tees, throughout the magazine feature. You can buy Cult of Individuality online from their website here and you can check out two videos from the shoot here and here.
