Citizens of Humanity
This weeks denim review is on another pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans, this time their Avedon Velour Skinny Pants in Butterscotch. This is actually my first time wearing mustard coloured jeans. Even though I love the shade, it’s always been a bold one that I haven’t had first on my list to try. I do love it though!
The Avedon fit, like I have mentioned before, is my favourite cut from the brand. It’s got a great low to mid rise with a very skinny fit on the legs and a very flattering back pocket placement. I find it to be a very flattering cut in general amongst many other brands, this is why it’s probably their most popular cut they have. I would definitely recommend trying the Avedon cut if it’s your first time trying out Citizens of Humanity, you wont be disappointed! I took my regular size of 27 in these and they fit me just fine so they definitely run true to size. The signature stitching on the back pockets is also very minimal, you can see it there, but the thread blends in nicely to the rest of the jeans.
This weeks denim review is on the new Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Rise Leatherette skinny jeans in Black. I have reviewed an older pair of coated black jeans from the brand in the Avedon cut 2 years ago (which you can see here) and I can say that these are definitely a lot different. I love this pair so much more!
The fit of these is something that I am not entirely used to trying as they are a high rise skinny. The rise actually measures at 9.5 inches and I included a gallery image so you can see just how high it is. It’s a lot higher than I like to wear my jeans as I prefer them to be around 7 inches, however since the weather is colder now, I’m wearing more longer tops and jackets so it covers up the rise perfectly. Also since it’s this high, it actually doesn’t give you any muffin top or lumpy bumpy bits so it does work out quite well. The inseam is too long for me, it measures at almost 31 inches, which is quite long for a 10″ leg opening, so it’s perfect for the taller ladies who want a super skinny coated jean instead of an ankle version. They don’t look too long in the photos though as I did tuck the hem underneath so they weren’t as bunched up.
Karolina Kurkova was spotted out and about in New York. She wore a pair of Citizens of Humanity Rocket Leatherette Jeans in Black. I like how feminine this look is on Karolina. There are masculine pieces such as the varsity-like jacket, but the way Karolina styled it made it look very flirty and a bit retro.
These jeans are actually quite the popular pair this season. There has been quite a few sightings of them ever since they were released. Actually, of Citizens jeans in general. They were huge when the Slick Skinny jeans came out, but became very low-key for a bit. Lately we have been getting quite a few sightings though. I hope to see Rihanna don this Leatherette pair out soon. Click here to purchase these jeans at SINGER22 for $228.
There is just something about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley that just amazes. She can literally wear anything and look amazing. It is pretty much unfair to the rest of the world that she is able to wear a range of different fits and look like they were made for her. I don’t think I have seen someone, even Kate Moss and Rihanna, wear a range like her and have it fit so perfect.
Case in point here. She showed that she is not just a skinny jean girl and chose a pair of Citizens of Humanity Dylan Boyfriend Jeans in Seychelles while out and about in West Hollywood, California. Always one to keep her looks feminine, she paired the jeans with a mullet sleeveless sweater and her favorite Chloe Sandals. I find the way she styled the jeans here looks modern opposed to dated like we tend to see when people pair crop tops with boyfriend jeans. What are your thoughts on her look?
