Citizens of Humanity
It’s that time of the year again when high-waisted cut-off shorts and barely any clothing is involved. I went the opposite route, minus the high-waisted shorts. For this year’s Coachella post, I wanted to do looks that were more casual and less extreme on the jewelry.
We all know how insane people can get with the accessories during this festival. I did incorporate some jewelry and accessories into some of the looks, but mostly kept everything minimal and looking just comfortable. You can easily add a bevy of jewels to these looks without compromising the breezy Summer feel.
It’s only a couple of weeks away so get your wallets ready to get these pieces. How many of you guys are excited and who are you hoping to see? These next couple of weeks cannot be any longer for me.
For my styling post this week, I chose the Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny in Axel for my weekend look. They are a clean pair with a great fit and are pitch black, the darkest that I have owned. I would say that the color palette of this look was inspired by the mood the cloudy weather has been making me feel. I have always been a fan of layered looks that look like you just threw everything on and can easily pair any bag with, whether it be a satchel or backpack.
I paired the jeans with an R13 leather vest, Saint Laurent belt, Brian Lichtenberg sweater and a pair of Nike Dunks. With every piece being virtually black, I wanted to break it up a bit with the silver in the belt and the blues in the shoes. When I thought of this outfit, I had the casual “borrowed boyfriend” vibe in mind. The juxtaposition of wearing the sweater slouchy and vest oversized with the fitted jeans helps keep the look tough without sacrificing a feminine feel. How many of you girls would wear a look like this?
How festive is Jennifer Garner’s outfit! She wore a pair of Citizens of Humanity Thompson skinny jeans in wheat grass. I love that Jennifer got so dressed up for St. Patrick’s Day, even Samuel is dressed up. She seems like such a fun mom!
We’ve seen Jennifer out in the Thompson style before, but I like that this pair is twill, it’s a bit different than the denim. I do love the color too, I hope we’ll see Jen wear them for an occasion besides St. Patrick’s day! Buy Citizens of Humanity online from Shopbop.com.
Jim Carrey walked the carpet at the screening of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone during the 2013 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival. The actor wore a pair of Citizens of Humanity Sid Straight Leg jeans in Black with a red jacket and gave his comical barefoot shoes a rest for a pair of silver shoes.
I think this look is amazing. I never would have thought I thought I would like a Jim Carrey look as much as I do with this one. The jacket is a great color and the shoes just work so well with Jim’s style as well as appealing to many people. What do you think of this look?
