Burberry
Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 Men
Metallics reigned at the new Spring 2013 Burberry men show. It wasn’t just the jeans. There were shirts, cardigans, and jackets that had the illusion of either cellophane and/or even metal. The shine was not the only thing making an appearance. Custom handkerchief prints were also all over this show.
There were some really great pieces. I am obsessed with anything that looks like it is made from a scarf. The shirts would have to be my favorites, as well as the shorts. At first I was a bit iffy about the bionic looking cardigans, but the more I look at it, the more it appeals to me. The outerwear though is on a whole different level. Christopher Bailey is one that knows how to send out nothing but cool outerwear down the runways.
Burberry Fall/Winter 2012
Here is a look at the new Burberry Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. For this season Christopher Bailey opted for more feminine silhouettes, which his designs were never anything like. When I mean feminine, I mean that these accentuate the curves this season. The looks can’t be super feminine though. Some of the looks had cargo pockets to help break up the feminine vibe.
The stripes trend carried on over from across the pond and landed on the Burberry catwalk as well. Many of the looks were belted, high-waisted, skirted, and had a ton of velvet. There was no sign of trousers this season. You can see the collection below.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley braved the chill to pose for some photos at the Burberry show at the Kensington Gardens in London, England. Rosie joined the velvet trend and wore a pair of Burberry Velvet Flares from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. It is really funny how composed Rosie is trying to look here. I can still see that she is freezing.
It is nice to see Rosie in some flares. I think these fit her really great, I like that there is a bit of a slouch to them, which I think a trouser style should have. You can click here to purchase Burberry from Net-A-Porter.
Burberry Men’s Fall 2012
It’s that time again for the men, Fashion Week for the Fall 2012 collections. Burberry is one of my highlights each season for both the men and women collections.
This season was inspired by old Sherlock Holmes series. It is probably one of the dandiest collections that you’ll see. Newsboy caps, slim suits, and velvet. Christopher Bailey made sure that the collection didn’t look dated either. He incorporated fisherman jackets to keep it looking from this decade. Everything about this collection is perfect.
