Balmain

Diane Kruger in Balmain

05.22.2012 Posted in Celebrity Pictures in Designer Jeans by Jonathan

Diane Kruger in Balmain e1337363638915 Diane Kruger in Balmain

Diane Kruger was spotted making her way to the taping of Le Grand Journal at the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France. She wore a head to toe Balmain look with the Denim Press-Stud Blouse, a leather skirt, belt, and boots. It’s nice to see another piece of Balmain denim out other than the jeans. I also like the pairing of the shirt with the skirt a lot more than pants, like in the show.

I think Diane is one of the most beautiful actresses right now. She is virtually ageless. I still can’t believe that she is in her mid-30′s. It is just unbelievable how amazing she still looks. You can click here to purchase this shirt at SSENSE for $2250.

5 Ways to Style the Textile Elizabeth and James Deb Jeans in White Python

04.20.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Jonathan

The Textile Elizabeth and James Deb Jeans in White Python are one of my favorite styles from their Spring collection. Here are five looks for probably every aspect in life that you can wear these jeans to. You can read what I suggest to wear them with and how to wear them. You can click here to purchase the jeans at Shopbop for $225 and you can click each link below to purchase the items to wear with them.

Textile Deb White Python 5 e1334805947775 5 Ways to Style the Textile Elizabeth and James Deb Jeans in White Python

1. Comfort Look

This is what I call the “Comfort” look, being that it just looks really comfortable. I styled the jeans with a Marc Jacobs sweater, Repetto flats, and a men’s Juun. J headband. It’s very easy going with the mint green sweater and flats. I think you can probably wear this on a casual day at work or during the day on the weekends. The green and the gold add some color to the look, but do not make the look busy. I say just throw everything on and tie your hair back and put on the headband. Wearing it this way will keep you comfortable and able to move in, yet still looking sleek.

2. Casual Dressy Look

Well this look isn’t too dressy, it’s still on the more casual side. I paired the jeans with a men’s Chambray shirt by Spurr, Balmain Belt, Maison Margiela Silver Tone Watch Link Bracelet and some Sam Edelman Portney Pumps. I would wear the shirt tucked in the front and leave it hanging in the back to show the belt off a bit and help break up the look. Then put the bracelet on the left wrist and cuff the jeans if they are not cropped on you.

3. Night Look

This is the dressiest look out of the five. I paired them with a Pierre Balmain Sleeveless Button-Up, Theyskens’ Theory Blazer, Givenchy Sharktooth Necklace (best accessory ever), and Lanvin Escarpin Pumps. I say wear the shirt untucked and buttoned all the way up, throw on the necklace, then the blazer. To keep the look sleek, do a smooth, clean cuff at the bottom.

4. Concert

This is the “Concert” look. You can pretty much wear it with any graphic/concert tee, but personally mint green seems to be one of the best colors to go with the print. I put it with a Lauren Moshi Effie Monster Truck Muscle Tee, Givenchy Osedia Cuff, and Sam Edleman Adena Loafers. I chose the loafers to add comfort, but being spiked, they keep the look edgy. You can throw the cuff on either wrist to add some weight to the look and it is just plain cool (to keep it short).

Textile Deb White Python 3 e1334805928664 5 Ways to Style the Textile Elizabeth and James Deb Jeans in White Python

5. Errand

This is the look to run errands in, sneakers and a basic tee are of course necessities for that. I kept it simple and comfortable. It’s styled with a red Enza Costa Drop Shouldered Crew-Neck and some black Supergas. Red is another color that I think goes really well with these jeans. Both the print and the color don’t take anything away from each other, but compliment each other instead. I also added some accessories, just to add a little more flare. I chose a Love Quotes Scarf, a Soixante Neuf and Luv AJ ring. I would just throw everything on, leave the scarf draping around the neck unwrapped. Then put the Soixante ring on the index finger on the left hand and the Luv AJ on the middle finger of the same hand.

Neon Yellow Trend at SSENSE

04.18.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Jonathan

Ssense e1334177437921 Neon Yellow Trend at SSENSE

You can’t deny that neon is the biggest thing for Spring. There are many brightly hued pieces that will suit everyone’s personal preference. One store that has many pieces that will suit anyone’s taste is SSENSE. They asked us to style a pair of yellow Balmain jeans from the Spring collection and this is what I came up with.

I was getting a Ska/Tribal vibe from the jeans, so that is the route I decided to take. In a more feminine way of course. I paired them with an Alexander Wang Open Back White Silk Shirt, Dannijo Karmen Necklace, YSL belt (men’s), a Maison Margiela Ring (men’s), and the Theyskens’ Theory Black Aven Edison Heels. I kept everything neutral so the focus won’t get taken away from the jeans.

This isn’t the only neon piece from SSENSE. They also have accessories and shoes that you can see below, which all come in bright shades. You can get each item above by clicking the links to purchase at ssense.com.

Miranda Kerr in Chloe Denim Shirt & Balmain Leather Trousers

03.21.2012 Posted in Celebrity Pictures in Designer Jeans by Jonathan

74926PCN Kerr06 e1332176909321 Miranda Kerr in Chloe Denim Shirt & Balmain Leather Trousers

Miranda Kerr was spotted taking son Flynn out for a walk in New York City, New York. She wore a Chloe pieced denim shirt with the still lust worthy Balmain zipper trousers. I just love this style no matter which color it is in, black or brown. The style is just so cool.

I also really like the Chloe shirt. It has something more than the classic denim shirt. Though I find it cool, I also find it to be on the edge of looking very 70′s with the patching. It works though, for me at least. Especially when you style it with sick leather trousers like Miranda did. What do you think of her look here?

Balmain Fall/Winter 2012

03.03.2012 Posted in Fashion Week by Jonathan

balmain rtw fw2012 runway 020 130151959200 Balmain Fall/Winter 2012

The new Fall/Winter 2012 Balmain collection walked in Paris, France for Paris Fashion Week. For this season the collection was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s personal jewelery collection. The clothing came in rich hues and had the classic intricate detail that is true to the fashion house.

When I look at the details, it is just amazing. The etched velvet, the beading, the knit, quilting, and tailoring. That is one thing this fashion house will never get wrong. You can see the collection below.

Balmain Pre-Fall 2012

01.30.2012 Posted in Fashion Week by Jonathan

balma pre autumn fall 201219 e1327864824472 Balmain Pre Fall 2012

I now see what Olivier Rousteing is talking about when he said he was taking Balmain back to its couture days. The clothing now looks in harmony with the price range. I do miss all the rips, tears and endless amounts of denim, but couture is the soul of the brand so that is where it should be.

The 2012 Pre-Fall collection had tons of prints, color and of course the classic glitz. There was also no shortage of leather. I think the collection is really great. There are quite a few pieces that I find amazing. The leather pants above are just everything. Trouser pockets, check. Leather, check. Inseam-zipper and motorcycle stitching, double check. My other favorites would have to be the printed pajama pants, all the jackets, and the black long-sleeve dress. I love the graphic at the waist. I would love to see that dress on Zoe Saldana or Kate Bosworth. You can see the full collection below.
