The Chopper has to be one of my favorite styles that James Jeans has ever released. There is a model off duty sense to them that I find so appealing and perfect for the new season. So that was the aesthetic that I went for when styling the Destroyed Indigo wash. See how I styled them below.
For this look here, I went for the model off duty era when Daria Werbowy and Gemma Ward took over the runways. The way they smartened up their destroyed denim is something that I have always been a fan of. I paired them with a Rag & Bone muscle shirt to layer under a Stella McCartney blazer to add to the tomboy feel. I then went for a pair of Toga Pulla boots to also help bring on the vibe, but also tie in the feminine touch of the Dannijo necklace. The necklace adds a nice flare, I find, without taking too much away from the vibe of the overall look.
Grunge is always a look that models go for, when they are roaming the streets for those street style photographers and Binx Walton is one that inspired this one here. There is a way to her personal style that I find cool with the way she carries herself. I paired the shorts with a t shirt from FRAME to add to the comfortable feel of the look. Then to carry that over, a cardigan by Equipment and a pair of Chucks. Then to finish it all off, a bracelet by Miansai just to add that little bit more to the look.
For this look here, I wanted to make it completely feminine. Something that you can definitely see Leandra Medine of ManRepeller wearing herself. I went for a Tibi top to pair with the shorts to contrast against the masculinity of them. To carry that mix of masculine and feminine further, a pair of 3.1 Phillip Lim mules and a set of bracelets from Spinelli Kilcollin. As I see this look as something of more of a statement, a clutch by Saint Laurent is the perfect bag to finish it all off.
– How many of you are rethinking the idea of these shorts?
Escorted by her bodyguard, Taylor Swift was seen heading to lunch with friend Selena Gomez in LA. For lunch Taylor wore a pair of James Jeans Shorty Slouch shorts in Safari Green with a black tee with lyrics from Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, and a leather Free People Halter.
This outfit is a bit edgier than the normally girly pieces that we see Taylor in. I can’t say that I am a fan of this outfit, I think there’s just too much going on. I think if she paired the shorts with a really feminine blouse, it’d be a great edgier look but still true to Taylor’s style. Buy James Jeans online at Shopbop.com.
The tomboy trend continues on into the new season. As the weather gets warmer, it is only appropriate to choose more loose and free styles. James Jeans is doing just that with their new Chopper jean. This new style is a shredded cutoff boyfriend cut that has gone against the grain of what many are putting out lately. Cut below the knees, the style just breathes a ‘borrowed from the boyfriend’ look that just keeps growing into prominence.
I have to say that I am quite surprised to see this jean from James. They are a brand that has mostly stuck with clean smart styles in the past and these were a pleasant sight to see from them. There is just a nonchalant feel about them that I just love. I can definitely see this style becoming a favorite and seeing someone like Rihanna and Erin Wasson wearing them. It is nice to see Kristen in a new pair. We have mostly seen her in classic blue or lighter washes such as grey and acid wash. The black somehow feels fresh on her and kind of makes her signature look feel refreshed.
I would love to see her wear the camo Utility Cargos from James next. Those are such a cool style that I am intrigued in seeing her in as the last time she wore a pair of slouchy cargos I was a fan of how they looked on her.
