DenimBlog got the chance to catch up with the beautiful Jessica Simpson and ask her a few questions about her new fashion venture, the Jessica Simpson Denim collection. Jess’s new jeans have an amazing fit and they retail under $50 which is amazing! You can read my review on a pair of her jeggings here and you can read the interview below. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions Jess!
DB: What made you want to do a denim line?
Jess: It was a natural fit, I am a jeans an tee-shirt – and heels! – kind of girl. Adding jeanswear has been one of the most exciting launches of the Jessica Simpson Collection.
DB: You have such a great style yourself. Where does your inspiration come from when designing?
Jess: It’s a huge compliment when people tell me the collection looks like me – it means we’ve done a good job!
DB: What is your favourite pair you have designed?
Jess: I love the deconstructed Vintage Flare, and I am loving the Forever Skinny under boots.
DB: What is your current collection about?
Jess: It’s about every woman, real women, feeling good in their own skin. Confidence comes from within, but it definitely helps when you feel great in your jeans.
DB: I know you have done a series on the Price of Beauty. What sort of women do you imagine would wear your jeans?
Jess: I always design for every woman. I want my collection to be on-trend, but it is so important to me that it be accessible for everyone.
Ashley Greene, star of Twilight, was snapped by the paps as she was heading to a nearby PinkBerry with her assistant in Los Angeles, California last week. I have been trying for a while now, to remember which brand this skirt or dress is by, it looks so familiar but I can’t put my finger on it!
Ashley was wearing a paneled denim dress or skirt with a lighter washed denim shirt over the top. This outfit is definitely different to what we are used to seeing her in normally. I’m going to leave this one up to you readers, what’s the brand of her skirt? Who has the answer?
Our ‘Denim of the Month’ sponsor, True Religion, has joined a very important cause and brought out a beautiful jean to help fight against breast cancer. The jean features very pretty pink crystal buttons on the front and on the back pockets and a light blue classic True Religion wash in the famous bootcut Becky fit. True Religion said the below statement about their new jean:
“True Religion Brand Jeans is proud to join Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the fight against breast cancer. In commemoration of breast cancer month, we have donated $25,000 to support finding the cures for breast cancer. Purchase the pink “reclaim” Becky and join the cause!”
Jeff Lubell, CEO, Creative Director & Chairman of the Board said:
“True Religion feels it is important to support Breast Cancer Awareness and every year we come up with a jean that recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness. We have been doing this for many years and True Religion likes to give back to important causes and support our female customer. We choose the Becky Reclaimed jean because it has a distinctive look, is a special and unique style, and the Becky fit is one of our core fits for the every woman of all generations.”
The Becky is their traditional rise boot cut jean with flap pockets which has a universally flattering fit. It’s made of 99% cotton and 1% elastin, it features pink crystal vintage brooch buttons and rusted decorative tack buttons and rivets. The jean is in their “Rough River” wash and it retails for $284. So True Religion fans, go out and get this jean and help to support breast cancer! We will also be running our new True Religion skin for a few days to support the brand! Here is the brand new Look Book for the Spring/Summer 2011 Frankie B. collection. The new seasons jeans are full of distressing, a cargo pant, jeggings and flared jeans. I love those striped jeggings in the image above, they are definitely really unique and different. It’s nice to see that denim brands are still doing cargos into next year too. What do you think of the new collection?
