I have had this post in drafts of Jessica Alba visiting her office in Los Angeles, California, back in February, for some time now, however I still haven’t been able to find clearer shots of the jeans.

I love this outfit that Jess is wearing though, so I wanted to go ahead and make the post. She’s wearing a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, which could be any brand knowing Jess, but possibly J Brand, with a white Proenza Schouler PS1 bag and Isabel Marant sneakers. Alessandra Ambrosio got snapped while she was at The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals a couple of days ago in France.

Alessandra embraced the warm weather with her trademark shorts look, this time choosing BLANK NYC’s “The Little Queenie” shorts in Hock It. Genetic (formally known as Genetic Denim) has relaunched their website and also brought out a brand new campaign called the ‘Be You’ Project. Over the past few months Genetic has been on a journey to discover innovative, compelling and passionate women that embody self-discovery, self-awareness and self-acceptance. Through this video project Genetic hopes to give viewers an in-depth look into these fearless women and their daily lives, highlighting the various things/places/experiences/talents that are unique to them, and make up their “DNA”.

Over the years, Genetic has found that inspiration comes most from people that we encounter in our daily lives.

For the first ‘Be You’ video, Genetic has teamed up with artist and photographer, Tasya Van Ree, drawn to her because of her talent, vulnerability, and raw beauty. Through the video, Tasya gives viewers an honest look into her life and what makes her who she is.

The “Be You” video project will be an ongoing project carried out each season, showcasing several new talents from different backgrounds and all different walks of life with the same consistent message, to ‘Be You’.

Another sighting of Megan Fox! She was seen on set filming scenes for her latest movie ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ at the Times Square in New York City.

Megan wore an outfit very similar to the previous on set one, but this time she changed her jeans. She did wear another pair of AG Adriano Goldschmied The Leggings, but in a different wash. This weeks review is on a pair of Koral Los Angeles Skinny jeans in Dirty Destroyed. You may remember the very first time I introduced you all to Koral with an interview (click here) and my previous review on their Merlot skinny jeans (click here), which have made it to my top 5 jeans of all time, so I am quite excited to be reviewing another pair from the brand, this time opting for a classic blue.

First off, I am going to state that these are a sample jean, which should be a standard size 26, however my Merlot pair of Koral jeans are a size 27 and these fit exactly like the size 27. I’m not sure if these actually are a 26 and run a size large, or they are a 27 and have been miss placed. Most Koral jeans are true to size though so I am inclined to think these are true to size too. I am a huge fan of Koral jeans! As you know before when I introduced you to the brand, I had reservations at first due to them being a new brand, but those worries were completely squashed the moment I saw a pair of their jeans in person. They are absolutely amazing!

Koral pay so much attention to detail, from the singular rivet on the back pocket, the colour co-ordinated tab on the hem of the right leg, the perfectly positioned pockets and the gorgeous fit that they have, they are wonderful jeans. The rise is a mid to low rise and they are skinny all the way down to the hem as you can see. They aren’t like a super stretchy jegging, but they are a lightweight denim, in a super skinny, so they could pass as one, but they are definitely more jean like than jegging style. They are soft on the skin and really nice to wear. I wore these all day, twice, and they are comfortable and really nice to be in. These are an ankle skinny as they hit right at the ankle on me, which is great because usually ankle jeans are too long on me, so considering I am shorter, these are definitely going to be an ankle jean on most ladies with a 30″ inside leg measurement and taller. I’m pretty sure!

Now the Dirty Destroyed wash is what attracted me to trying these as I wanted to try out one of their blue jeans. Since I already have one of their skinnies, it was important to me to try something different. This wash is absolutely perfect for summer as it’s dirty with rusty tones on the distressed areas. They also have a washed out stone effect down the thighs and at the knees so they do look worn in and ripped, just like an older pair of jeans. I find these to be really authentic looking and this is something that’s really important to me. I’ve tried and seen jeans before with rips in random places and fades in others, which wouldn’t have happened naturally, so it just looks wrong. These on the other hand look right. They could easily pass as a worn in pair of jeans. I love the nice looking faded honeycombs behind the knees too.

I absolutely love these and I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say about them. I know a lot of you rely on my denim reviews each week and like to know what I think about certain jeans, and in all honesty, I can say that if you haven’t ever tried Koral before, then you definitely should. Everyone so far who has tried Koral after my recommendations has agreed with me that they are wonderful and want to buy more. I definitely think they are worth the money and they wouldn’t be a regrettable purchase either. If you only just want to try one pair then I insist you try the Skinny cut, just like these or in other colours. You will end up loving them and living in them, I’m sure. I can say this in all honesty as well since I’m never paid for reviews, they are all my own personal opinion on the jeans I have tried and own. Kate Moss and her husband, Jamie Hince, stopped off to buy a crepe from a stall while walking through Hampstead in London. The same stall was visited recently by Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis! I guess crepes are popular among the celebs!

Kate wore her Mango distressed boyfriend jeans with a fringed pair of Louboutin boots, a motorcycle jacket and a hat. Ever since I first saw these jeans on Kate, I really liked them. I wasn’t expecting Mango to come out with such a pretty pair of jeans, since denim isn’t their main focus. Unless, of course, it’s just Kate who makes these look great! She is known for making anything look good.

Nicole Kidman wore a pair of AG Adriano Goldschmied The Absolute Legging in Super Black, while at lunch with her husband Keith Urban in Cannes, France a couple of days ago during the Cannes Film Festival.

It’s nice to feature Nicole on the blog as we don’t get that many sightings of her at all. I’m glad she’s in one of my favourite brands too! AG make some of the most amazing jeans! Black and white thick striped jeans are so popular at the moment! So many brands are releasing their take on the trend and I have been seeing them all over the fashion blogs and online stores!

A couple of weeks ago at the Levi’s Haus in Los Angeles, the brand celebrated the Levi’s partnership with will.i.am and Coca Cola. For this partnership, Levi’s created a limited edition 501 jean for EKOCYCLE, a social movement founded by legendary musician and producer will.i.am and Coca-Cola. The limited edition 501 jean is made of post-consumer waste (8 plastic bottles to be exact).

The jeans are available on Levis.com as well as in select Levi’s stores and they retail for $128! The idea behind all of this is to show the everyday recycling choices made by Levi’s and to change the way consumers think about and treat waste. I think it’s a really cool idea and I’m always a big fan of will.i.am, so I’m glad he’s behind it! You can check out the images in the gallery below.

Levi’s is celebrating 140 years of a cultural icon – The Levi’s 501! It’s amazing to think that the classic 501 cut, which is still popular today, was first brought onto the scene back in 1873! For this little celebratory campaign (titled Happy Birthday, Mr. Blue Jean), Levi’s has put together some quotes from designers, even a timeline of the 501′s evolution and a cool video which you can watch above.

When Levi Strauss partnered with tailor Jacob Davis in 1873 on a patent for riveted pockets on work pants for Western pioneers, they couldn’t have dreamed of its impact on modern culture. The Levi’s® 501® button fly jean – the original and first ever blue jean – was born this coming Monday, May 20, 1873. And 140 years later, it is more popular and even more relevant to global culture and style than ever before.

“I wish I had invented the 501®.” – Tom Ford – “I wish I had invented blue jeans. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity – all I hope for in my clothes.” – Yves Saint Laurent.

1873 The birthday of the blue jean. Levi Strauss and Nevada tailor Jacob Davis get together to reinforce a garment for working western pioneers by using copper rivets at the point of strain. This became the first iteration of the 501® jean, then called XX. On May 20, 1873, the original patent for using rivets on men’s pants was granted, and an America icon was born.

1890 Lot numbers were first used to differentiate the various products made by the Levi’s® brand. The 501® jean as it is now called, was officially named when the number was assigned to the now world famous “copper riveted waist overalls.”

1936 The first Red Tab device was placed on the right hand pocket to differentiate Levi’s® jeans from imitators.

1943 The famous Arcuate stitch design, which has graced the back pockets on the 501® jean since its debut, was registered as a trademark in 1943. It is iconic in its own right, as one of the oldest clothing trademarks still in use today.

1950s The Rebels of the 1950s proudly wore the 501® jean – adopted from the laborers after the Great Depression – and made it a symbol of irreverence and solidarity. Worn by everyone from James Dean and Marlon Brando to Jack Kerouac and Jackson Pollock, the 501® jean became the emblem of youth and a symbol of rebellion. Emerging in Hollywood, style icons begin to embrace the 501® after Marilyn Monroe is seen wearing them in hit film ‘The Misfits’.

1964 So significant is the cultural impact of the 501® that in 1964 a pair of 501® jeans entered the Permanent Collections of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.

1960s & 70s Far from being simply a museum exhibit, millions of pairs of 501® jeans continue to be worn by young pioneers who are writing history, their ubiquitous presence seen throughout the peace movement of the 1960s and 1970s.

1980s Steve Jobs adopts his signature look of a black turtleneck, Levi’s® 501® jeans and gray New Balance sneakers.

1989 Pioneers continue to wear the 501® as seen atop the Berlin Wall as it came down in 1989.

1990s Worn throughout the Grunge Movement, the 501® continues to remain at the forefront of change across generations, becoming a staple in Kurt Cobain’s wardrobe and other legendary rock stars.

2000 Time Magazine names the 501® jean the “fashion item of the 20th century”, beating out the miniskirt and the little black dress.

2009 President Barack Obama wears Levi’s® 501s to throw out the first pitch at the 2009 All Star Baseball Game

Today The uniform of progress since 1873, Levi’s® jeans are still the first choice of modern pioneers: the artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, activists, bloggers, and even presidents trail blazing the modern frontier in their 501® jeans.
